Are they making another miniseries for
Dune Messiah or Children of Dune?
The director of Frank Herbert's Dune miniseries, John Harrison,
has indeed written a sequel miniseries script that combines
both Messiah and Children entitled
Frank Herbert's Children of Dune.
It premiered March 16 to great ratings and strong reviews.
It began principal photography in April 3, 2002 for a March 2003 release.
John Harrison did not direct.

How many Dune novels are there?
There are six in the original set by
Frank Herbert.
Currently there are Six more by
Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson
entitled
House Atreides, House Harkonnen and House Corrino The Butlerian Jihad, The Machine Crusade, and The Battle of Corrin.
Are they making more Dune novels?
Brian and Kevin are currently writing
a new trilogy set during the time of the Butlerian Jihad, entitled
The Legends of Dune.
Are they going to write a Dune 7 and finish the storyline of Chapterhouse: Dune?
Brian and Kevin intend on writing the Dune 7 novel
after they finish their Legends of Dune trilogy.
Dune 7 will most likely be published in October of 2005.
They claim to be using notes found by
Frank Herbert concerning the plot line of Dune 7.
Dune 7 (as yet, untitled) will be available sometime after 2004. No concrete date has been set for its publication

Who created The Landsraad?
The Landsraad was created by DuneFan,
now known as PaulAtreides_66
on January 16, 2001
to cater to the die-hard Dune fan
who wanted continued up to date info on the new miniseries
and new Dune novels in addition to info on classic Dune.
The Landsraad went public on April 30, 2001.
What's with all the pictures of sockmonkeys?
We had a running gag in the summer of 2001
that the cgi mouse used in two scenes of the miniseries,
Frank Herbert's Dune, was so fake looking that they were better off
using a hand puppet or even a sock monkey.
So, many here have run with the joke
of finding sockmonkeys in ridiculous poses, especially in other films.

I see you have more than one message board. What is the deal?
Convocation of the Faithful message board is for primarily Dune related topics and major announcements. Our General board is for general science fiction or off topic discussions. Our "Dune Messiah" message board is for reading and discussing the second Dune novel. We are fairly lenient about the discussion boards as long as we don't have adult language or suggestive pictures posted. Please note that all messages are considered active, so feel free to reply to any post no matter how old it is.
Everytime I visit the Landsraad, there are always new pictures and updates! Don't you guys have lives?
