Specialty Shops Competition Rifles & Gunsmithing Phone: (800)369-4481 Toll Free / (641)342-2011 From the local area Rick McDowell - Owner Rick posts troubleshooting tips on AR15-L and has a wealth of knowledge. Competition Specialties is primarily a custom competition shop. He hand builds IPSC/USPSA handguns, and also some rifles and shotguns, 10/22's, etc., Anything related to competition shooting turns Rick on. He also has a full machine shop here so Rick can build custom parts and firearms. Rick also manufacture a higher grade of hard cast pistol bullets for shooters and competitors. Rick won Winchester's test so his bullets are included in their little reloading booklet. I have a lot of 1911 parts, some basic AR parts, along with some parts for a few others. Rick can turn barrels down to whatever the customer wants, but is not set up for reparkerizing. If Rick does anything well, it is being able to fix crap. ;-) He can take problem rifles that other 'gunsmiths' have given up on, figure out the problem, and get it fixed. Never met one he couldn't fix. Rick has worked on hundreds of AR's also and seen most of the problems with them. Lou is a 22 year Master Gunsmith and a participating member of this site. Custom Work Kurt's Kustom 6167 Southeast 26th Street, Suite A; Bushnell, FL 33513 Phone: (352)793-2346. Email: kurtkstm@atlantic.net . Kurt is a regular poster to AR15.com as KurtsKustom, he also moderates a forum there about his business. His AR work includes reducing HBAR barrels to M4, A2 or A1 dimensions, barrel fluting, building ARs in unusual or wildcat calibers, . 22LR uppers (in any configuration), and other unique modifications and hardware (Check out his post ban muzzle brakes!). Kurt is not limited to the world of AR-15s (AKs, FALs, bolt actions, and M17 bullpups are all common in his shop), nor is he limited to the firearms industry. Note when Kurt reprofiles the barrel he also parkerizes the front sight pins, and the barrel w/o the front sight on per mil-spec (something even Bushmaster does not do) to help prevent rust. Star Tactical Troy, OH.Contact Mike at mailto:me223@ar15.com Mike is relatively new to our site and to AR15.com but his work sure is popular. Most people first heard of him through Jeff's review of his single point sling, but Mike's shop also does custom AR-15 work. Mike can permenantly install your muzzle brake (or faux flash supressor) for $25. He builds nice faux flash hiders called 'The Ghost' (they look alot like Phantom Flash hiders) that will bring your 14.5" barrel to the non-NFA limit of 16". Mike will also reprofile your barrel from HBAR to M4 for $50 or to 'lightweight' for $40. Star Tactical does all kinds of refinishing work (parkerizing for steel and baked laquer for aluminum parts), and also does work on FALs (kit building & refinishing). Randall specializes in anything having to do with AR-15 barrels and uppers. He mostly make new barrels in standard and odd chamberings. He also re-profiles, shortens, threads, crowns etc... Randall also makes contender/encore barrels and a limited amount of bolt action work. Phone is 909-641-8410 and he prefers calls after 5pm pacific coast time. Or you can e-mail him. WOLFE'S WEAPONS
