24 Aug 08 We received word from our friend Jim Laughland that he took home another trophy from Camp Perry. See the info in AR News and the photos in the Discussion Zone.
Congratulations Jim from all of us here at the Maryland AR Shooters Site!
23 Jul 08 Added a new How-To (Bayonet with 16 inch barrel courtesy of Fred), and Stag Arms has recently been in the News (see the link here: AR News). I have another review in the wings from one of our overseas members, just waiting on some info from him, stay tuned for an update.
31 Mar 08 In case you missed it, new vendors have been added to our Where to Buy pages. Horst & McCann in Maryland (they carry Stag and S&W ARs and had a Stag lower in stock when I wa up there on Saturday). Also Wolfe's Weapons up in Pennsylvania has been added as a black rifle dealer. Both these vendors have other listsings - Horst &McCann for their indoor range, and Wolfe's Weapons for their gunsmithing & custom services.
25 Mar 08 Major update of the AR-15 Weight Table in the Documents section. Updated with 6.8 related parts.
29 Feb 08 Polymere AR lower manufacurere Cav-Arms was raided yesterday by the BATF for unspecified reasons in a media dog-n-pony show. AR15.com has organized a fund rasier running now through Monday. For details see the AR News section,
30 Jan 08 Last month Bushmaster was awarded a contract for M16A3 and M16A4 rifles - read about it in AR News.

15 Aug 07 Two items of note from Cav-Arms added to AR News. Two new items in the Product Reviews: Grips_(Pistol/Foward/Handguard) section - with more info comming. Also, I wanted to give a heads-up for a new product review that will be posted soon: Grip Plates (http://www.gripplates.com/) a new way to customize your lower receiver without having to ship your lower halfway across the country.
Also: Added GripPlates to our Related Links page, and 68Forums.com and 6.5Grendel.com in the AR-15 Links page for the 6.x fans.

22 Nov 06 Updated the MD Ranges page with a new indoor range Horst & McCann (formerly Gunpowder Range). This range will allow you to shoot your 5.56 & 7.62x39 rifles when you use frangible ammo!
28 Aug 06 Wow it's been 4 months since my last post. Ok I finally got around to adding M4Carbine.net to our AR-15 Links page. I also posted the AGC's letter about supporting Sen Giannetti.
24 Apr 06 Bushmaster has a new owner - see AR News for details. Also the weight chart has been updated.
23 Feb 06 Added David Horvaths new review of the DPMS .22LR DCM upper. You can read it HERE.
04 Feb 06 I added some new targets to the Documents area (Targets Folder). Two of these targets will allow you to zero your AR at 25yards to give it a 50y/200M Improved Battlesight Zero (IBSZ). One target is for use with the iron sights, the other for use with red-dot sights. There is also a second set of these targets for use at 50yards (the preffered sighting distance). How do these differ from the military versions? They use a better sight picture, one that allows for more precise shooting.
Also there some more AR News
23 Jan 06 New AR News story.
19 Jan 06 The Rhino Gas System Photo Essay is now in Adobe's .PDF format.
17 Jan 06 Several items of interest have been posted in AR News over the last couple of days.
14 Jan 06 "Tire Iron of AR15.com" has thoughtfully provided a photo essay on the old RHINO gas piston system. The "members only" article is posted at the bottom of the AR Articles page. It is currently in MS Word format, I'll be converting it to Adobe's .PDF format in the next few days.
08 Dec 05 I've updated the AR Weight Table yet again. Now the worksheet on page 2 has drop down menus (so you don't need to keep flipping back and forth between pages). Just select the item you want in the description field and the weight will be automatically entered. A few new items were added to the table (including the Carbon 15 lower weights). Members can download it from the Documents section (it's the AR-15 Weight Table.xls file in the Technical Documents folder).
01 Dec 05
Ok we're getting ready to wind up the year. I've updated the AR Weight Table with a bunch of new stuff. Members can download it from the Documents section (it's the AR-15 Weight Table.xls file in the Technical Documents folder).
A couple other news worthy items. Bushmaster is releasing a 9mm AR pistol (not for sale in MD) and a 9mm AR-15 Carbine in their Carbon-15 line. www.AR15-Barrels.com has extended their 'group buy' of Customer Spec'd 6.8SPC Stainless Match barrels. Good thing too because Silver State Armory is selling 6.8SPC by the ton (about $116 for 200 rounds).
14 Sep 05 Last night Greg 'Sully' Sullivan of The Defensive Edge announced a new line of ARs that are intended for 'Serious Work'. They have some neat standard features, to include a textured magazine well (to make it easier to use as a substitute vertical fore grip). Read all about it in the AR News section.
27 Aug 05 There have been various updates over the last couple of months (most notably files added/modified in the Documents Section - including the Weight Table). Today I updated the Parts FAQ (updated out-of-date info on the black insert - thanks to Ekie), and added a review on FIRE's Tactics 1 course.
30 May 05 Memorial Day I hope we all take time to remember our fallen Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors today.
I also received news from the Maryland Tenth Cav Gun Club on the story of their breaking ties with the national organization. You can read the full press release in the Discussion Zone or the pertenant information in the AR News section. The club does have a new name and is growing!
25 May 05 With great dissapointment we announce the demise of the Baltimore Chapter of the 10th Cav Gun Club. For more info see the AR News page. It's bad enough that we lose another gun club in this state, but it's doubly sad as this club reached out to those who traditionally didn't get involved with shooting and the shooting sports. I'm hoping the Baltimore Chapter will find a way to reorganize under a different name and continue on.
Shawn I. e-mailed me with some comments on new production Leapers 4x20 'Colt Clone' scopes. I added them to the review page for that optic. Optics/Sights
