View the details of this row. After market Pertronix ignition. $100.00
If your Intrested in replacing the OEM points to a more reliable electronic ignition, check out pertronix Ignition Part  #1181 and #1181LS. You have a few options so check with them before you buy. I recomend that when you install the ignitor you wire the red wire to a 12V "keyed" source. Our 65 and 66 caddys have a 6V ignition wire to the coil. The pertronixs ignitor will run on both 6V and 12V but you will not be using its potential wired up @ 6V. To get 12V You simply find a 12V keyed source. Instalation of the ignitor is simple remove the old points from under your cap and rotor and install the Pertronix unit in place with 3 screws. Only 2 wires to hook up. 1 black wire to the - side of the coil and 1 red + to a 12V "keyed" power source. For added performace buy a pertronix coil part #4011 (black) again check with pertronix for your applacation.

Install time is about 1hr

View the details of this row. oil press shim $10.00
here is an old school tip on raising your engines oil press.

On the passenger side of the engine where the oil pumpis mounted you can take the cap off the oil press relief valve. there is a spring and plunger that c.ontrols the oil press. with the cap removed the spring should slide out. Measure the dia of the spring, then machine a stainless shim or find a washer of compairable size. Put the spring back in the relief valve then install the shim behind it,put the cap back on and check your oil press. I was able to get about 5 psi more press at idle with a shim.

If you want to install a hidden oil press guage you can put a Tee fitting in the port for the stock oil light press switch and thread a small stewart warner guage to the side of the tee fitting. the presser switch is threaded to the top of the tee. Its hidde yet not hard to see.I think it gives you a peace of mind that the engine is holding good oil press. heres a pic of my guage instaled. Look just behing the air cleaner
