| Roger aka Freedman © 2004 http://groups.msn.com/TheSocialShuttle Two Shuttles are needed, wound with approximately 4 yrds each. This was made with size #20 thread. Note: this is only 3 ½" / 8.89cm so if your making it longer fill the shuttle, you may still need to switch shuttles somewhere if needed using the SLT (which is just crossing your threads and making one knot just like you would tie your shoe.) R=Ring P=Picot Ch=Chain Rw=Reverse work(or just turn work over) Cl=Close Sh1=Shuttle1 Sh2=Shuttle2 FR=Floating Ring DNR=Do Not Reverse Keep in mind if your doing Front/Back Side tatting to do your double stitches in reverse. My first ring was made in the normal manner, and I reversed to make my first chain, which I did my double stitches in reverse order, so my work is the same on both sides. This is optional, and looks just as nice regardless how you tat. If you think your little rings are to small at 6ds you can make them all with 8ds around the outside, and it will still look nice. Starting with the inside ring with 3 picots to start. Last Chain at top gets joined to the base of the first ring made. Tie off, hide ends. Starch if desired. |
