Group Constitution
Rules & Guidelines

A. Basic Group Guidelines:

These rules are really a set of expectations that help explain why this group exists and what the group management and members of the group agree is necessary to help it continue to meet its original purpose.

These rules also are consistent with The Terms of Use for All MSN Groups, which must be complied with for any group to take advantage of the free service MSN provides.

Like any rules they must be interpreted and enforced by people who are only people.

Rule 1 - No personal attacks on other group members (i.e. making belittling remarks, challenging a members integrity or beliefs, and other attacks as perceived by the group management, on a case by case basis.)

Rule 2 - No inappropriate or offensive language or descriptions of a sexual nature on the message boards or in the chat rooms.

Rule 3 - No posting of inappropriate photos or drawings in the photo albums or message boards. The term inappropriate will be determined by the management of this group on a case-by-case basis, but includes nudity or pornography of any kind.

Rule 4 - No threats of physical or any other kind of violence against another group member.

Rule 5 - No deleting of other members photos from the photo albums other than by management for any perceived breaking of group rules.

Rule 6 - No deleting posts from the message boards other than by management for any perceived breaking of group rules.

Rule 7 - No disparaging statements made about other Groups and/or their Memberships.

B. Enforcement:

The following are the "general" ways in which these rules will be enforced:

1st offense: Written reminder of the rules from the management of this group.

2nd offense: Group management will request an on-line meeting with the member to discuss the issues.

3rd offense or refusal to discuss issue: Banning (from 1 month to 1 year) or other disciplinary action deemed appropriate by the group management.

Management reserves the right to ban without warning for whatever reason/s it sees fit.

Warning:

If you have a sense that something you are doing and/or you are having issues with Mangement and you are about to be banned.  I strongly suggest you clear out your albums and/or messages.  A member who is banned for whatever reason will loose all rights to what is left behind.  Property left behind ie messages, links and/or albums will become Eminent Domain of The Spirit's Room, her Management and membership.  Management will not be held responsible for deleting or otherwise disposing or the transferring of what is left behind.  This includes The Spirit's Room and The Spirit's Graphics.

C. Other Guidelines:

1. Please do not post derogatory comments about the group as a whole. If you have a problem or an issue with the way the group is being operated, use the Member Tools option, click the e-mail option, and select the option to send a message to the Managers (not to all members, in this case) explaining your issue. If necessary, we will set up a meeting to discuss the issue with you directly to get a better understanding of your concerns.

2. Please try to place all posts on the appropriate message board and remember that new posts will be cleared from the General Message Board each Sunday (so if you would like your message to stay up longer than that, please post it on another message board when appropriate).

3. Try not to use large-sized fonts in your messages. They require many people to scroll from sentence to sentence, making the intent of your message more difficult to follow. They also mean that fewer messages can appear on the message page, meaning that more recent replies will be forced onto a second page, which then appears as the current page if members don't notice the arrows and pointers to the messages. All caps messages are harder to read, and is often regarded as shouting in the words of cyber-talk. It is suggested that you not make your messages in all caps...unless you feel the need to emphasise a specific point.

4. There is a limit to the number of messages that appear on a message page. When that limit is reached, the current page becomes page two which shows the original message at the top, then follows that with the current replies. That can make it appear that prior replies have been deleted, when in fact, they are on the original page. Arrows at the bottom of the message page indicate which messages (i.e. 7-20) are on the current page. In this example, messages 1-6 can be viewed by pressing the previous button.

5. Please do not post links to websites or other Groups in the Message Boards without prior authorization from the Group Manager.  You can send your links to me through the Group Email the Managers found on the What's New Page.  Make sure you include your email address in your requests.

D. Manager’s Duties:

1. To place principals before personalities.

2. To treat ALL members with respect at all times and to always place the overall good of the group first.

3. To do, or delegate to others, all maintenance needed in the group.

4. The manager will take suggestions & complaints from the members and if necessary schedule a meeting with the Assistant Managers on said complaint or suggestion.

5. To delete all offensive posts.  The group management on a case-by-case basis will define the term offensive post.

6. To delete all offensive photos's from the photo albums.  The group management on a case-by-case basis will define the term offensive photos.

7. To administer all disciplinary actions up to and including banning.
