Aes Sedai means 'servant to all' in the Old Tongue. They are women who are wielders of the One Power. Their male counterparts are now known as Asha'man meaning 'guardian' in the Old Tongue.
It used to be that when a woman was raised to the shawl she'd swear Oaths on the Oath Rod. The Former Amyrlin, Egwene al'Vere, did away with this for it cut an Aes Sedai's life in about half dependant upon her strength in the One Power.
Now that you are Aes Sedai be sure to continue posting. Teach classes, recruit for your Ajah, bond a Warder (or more), get your eyes and ears together, travel the world, police the city, set up your Quarters however you like, etc.
