Once it has been determined that a girl can channel the One Power, she is brought to the White Tower for years of careful study. For girls who show a great deal of ability, the White Tower’s patience is nearly limitless. The White Tower is not done with a girl who can channel until it says it is.

The journey to become Aes Sedai begins as a novice. Novices are clothed in pure white, and are given a great number of chores. These chores are to strenghten the novice’s mind and body, as well as to learn the Aes Sedai way. It is during this period that these girls learn about their gift, and how to use it. After five to ten years of study, most novices are prepared to move to the next step.

After the Accepted, led you to the Mistress of Novices' Study, you've received your room assignment, your name is written in the Novice's legder and you have read the rules, the Accepted leads you into a small room with a few chairs.  This is the Novice Sitting room.  You have your first night off but you will need to be up and ready to start with your chores and classes the next day.

The Rules

1)  Novices are not allowed to leave the Tower grounds.

2)  Novices are not allowed to be alone with a Warder in Training or with a Soldier or Dedicated.  This includes being in their Barracks unless told otherwise.

3)  Chores must be done daily and promptly.

4)  The Novice's rooms must be cleaned daily.  (Periodic inspections will take place).

5)  Novices are to attend all classes unless told not to.

6)  Never address an Aes Sedai first unless something is wrong.  You must curtsy to the Aes Sedai when you see her and when you are given leave.

7)  Novices must appear to be neat and clean.

8)  Novices are not to train with weapons as it will take too much time away from their studies.

To be Raised to Accepted:

1)  We must have already received your biography and found it to be appropiate.

2)  Choose which Ajah you want to be a part of.

3)  Write an essay of your experiences so far at the Tower.

4)  Post!  A lot!

5)  You will be summoned to the Arches when you are ready.
