Dear members

The following guidelines for the Tibetan Buddhism Community are designed to promote courteous debate in an environment free of flames, commercial advertising, spamming and other distractions that reduce the value of the community to its members. This code of conduct applies from this moment onwards.

The Tibetan Buddhism Community CODE OF CONDUCT:

1.  Welcome to the Tibetan Buddhism Community. On behalf of the community a warm welcome to all new members and fond regards to all the "older" members, many of whom have not posted for a while.

2.  The General Message Board is the heart of the community.

3.  Members may not use vulgarity, profanity, or sexually explicit language in the community. Although these terms are not easy to define, the community management staff will use their discretion to make this community comfortable for participants who may be sensitive to profane or sexually explicit language. No offensive, foul or lewd language is to be written on the message boards. Such behaviour will not be tolerated and your posts will be edited or deleted.

4.  If you disagree with the opinion of someone else, it is still their right to have an opinion. Respect the rights of others to disagree with you, as you have the same rights when it comes to them. If you disagree you may say so, however, not in an insulting or 'bashing' way. Please maintain respect and tolerance for ALL members of the community and be gracious in disagreement.

5.  Harmful content, personal criticism or attack on another member is strictly forbidden on the message boards. Sort it out between yourselves via e-mail - this is a much better way to communicate personally. Any messages deemed to be innappropriate, aggressive or deliberately insulting in nature towards another person will be edited or deleted.

6.  Avoid using the message boards for personal messages to other members as in, "Hey Joe," that can be done via e-mail. You will find everyone's e-mail address on the members list or click on their 'name' to go to that members profile.

7.  Members must respect the privacy of the other participants in the community. Do not publish or forward, in whole or in part, messages from other communities or e-mail without the permission of the sender. Do not publish facts, rumours, or innuendo regarding anyone's personal life. Do not spam the members on the message board or by e-mail.

8.  Members are expected to honour the intent of these rules and avoid actions that would disrupt discussions or offend reasonable people. The community staff will take whatever action is appropriate and necessary to prevent or eliminate such disruption or offense.

9.  Please always feel free to e-mail the managers or assistant managers if you have any questions, problems or complaints.

10. Be civil and treat everyone with the same respect and compassion.

Regards,

Annie!

Rikpa
