~PART TWO~
Wild Angels

This classic 1966 biker movie is considered one of the better of its genre. It starred
Peter Fonda (above), Nancy Sinatra, Bruce Dern (a frequent biker movie bad guy) and
Diane Ladd. Dern and Ladd conceived their daughter, Laura on the set of this movie.
Who needs a helmet when you have DOT approved hair?
Nancy Sinatra was considered hot stuff in 1966.
There's no mistaking the message in the top line of this poster. To make sure the public
was sufficiently frightened, The Venice Hell's Angels were recruited as extras.
This one's self explanitory.
Clambake
Elvis was a lifelong Harley enthusiast, and even appeared on the
cover of Harley's magazine of the same name, except he was
on a Sportster for that shot. Clambake is typical Elvis fare.
Girl on a Motorcycle
Also titled "Naked Under Leather", this Euroflick shocked audiences
of the late sixties with psychedelic scenes and full frontal nudity.

Marianne Faithfull plays a bored wife who buys a motorcycle just
as transportation to meet her clandestine lover, then finds she likes it.
Mask
"Mask" stars Sam Elliot and Cher in this movie about an
elephant boy (Eric Stoltz) learning to cope. It portrays
bikers in a more positive light than most films.
Elliot unsleeved and Cher unaugmented.
The Great Escape
Most people would agree that Steve McQueen making this jump in The Great
Escape is the most famous motorcycle stunt of all time. Except that's not
McQueen, it's Bud Ekins, his riding buddy and stunt double in the film.
Then Came Bronson
The same summer that Easy Rider was released, Michael Parks starred in this two
hour pilot for a series which chronicles a lone benevolent drifter touring America
on his Sportster. Parks also sang the theme, which did well on the record charts.
The Lords of Flatbush
Although this movie (which gave Stallone and Winkler their starts) featured
a Harley, the characters were more into "lifestyle" than riding motorcycles.
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man
Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson were outshined by their bikes
in this forgettable flick. Don't strain your eyes trying to read it.
Promotional poster
Here's a better shot of Rourke's FXR,
which has a Wide Glide fork and solid struts.
Rebel Rousers
Recognize that gentleman on the left?
Not only did Nicholson get stuck with the clown pants and the 45, they also
flopped the image on this photo. Notice Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd are also
featured in this 1967 movie.
Every Which Way But Loose
In nine out of ten movies, bikers are portrayed as either stupid, evil or dirty,
and usually all of the above. Even Clyde the ape outsmarts them in this flick.
Gridlock
Yes, that's Ed McMahon on that chopper in this movie later
titled "The Great American Traffic Jam". He's not really riding
it, though, you can see the straps holding it onto the trailer.
Born Losers
This was actually the first Billy Jack movie (1967), with Tom
Laughlin playing the same character, a part-Indian pacifist.
He directed it under the name "T.C.Frank".
Hell's Angels '69
Featuring Sonny Barger and the Oakland chapter of the Hell's Angels,
this is probably the most remembered movie of the time, next to Easy
Rider. Little boys who were frightened by these images thirty years ago
now spend big bucks trying to emulate them.
Savages From Hell
Every biker movie needs a rape victim, because as everyone knows
all bikers are rapists. This one comes complete with torn blouse.
Chopper Chicks in Zombietown

This biker flick takeoff featured a girl gang called the "Cycle Sluts".
Angel Unchained
'70s TV heavy Don Stroud stars with Tyne Daly of Cagney and Lacey in this 1970 film.
Luke Askew (the stranger in Easy Rider) plays the leader of , what else, a commune.
What would a biker movie be without hate?
