We are just about ready to begin a new season at TFC. Preparations have been made during the off-season filling vacancies for coaches in both football & cheerleading (yes we will have a Redskin Cheer squad this year!). We are in the process of scheduling a clean-up day in the future - check back for the dates. But the most important item discussed are registration dates & prices. Our prices have not increased over the 1998 price (they have been lower but never higher). In order to reserve your spot on a team this year - it is best to register early. We did fill up the two lower teams early last year so do not delay registration!
Registration Dates:
May 23rd, June 13th and July 11th from 6-8pm.
Price: $65 registration fee (includes jersey or cheer sneakers and one competition)
Fundraisers-Required: 4-$8.00 Kroliks Chicken BBQ Tickets, and 6-$5.00 daily lotto tickets - total $62.00 due in August
What to bring: Registration fee $65, birth Certificate (new players/cheerleaders), and health insurance information, and football players weight if they are not present.
Who must be there: Cheerleaders must be present to reserve uniform - remember once uniforms are reserved there will be no more openings. Cheerleaders can also try on other uniform items they may wish to purchase (socks, midrif, bloomers) and hopefully we will get the sneakers in to size the girls. Sneakers are included in your registration fee.
Note from last season:
We would like to thank all the players, cheerleaders, coaches, members and parents for all their help making our 50th season such a success. We wish to recognize the championships and finishes from this year: Renegades with their NYFL division championship, GI Pre-Season game, TFC 85# Tournament Champion and Harvest Bowl Winner. The Braves with their Bob Bull Bowl championship and Harvest Bowl Winner. The Braves Cheerleaders with their 1st Place Championship at the International Freedom Challenge Competition. The Renegade Cheerleaders with their 4th Place finish at the Tryo Competition. And The Redskins for great games (the few lost were only by 6 points) and congratulations for making the playoffs and finishing in the top half of their division (and for keeping us all on the edge of our seats all season).
Membership Meetings: Held the first Friday January-May at 7pm (May 4th will be at 8pm), and the First and Third Fridays June-November at 9pm. New members welcome to join.
The Tonawandas Football Clinic has been teaching children the game of football and the skills of cheerleading since 1958. 2007 was our 50th season of football in Tonawanda. This organization is a member of the NYFL and competes within the Western New York area. Our facilities are located along the historic Erie Canal in the City of Tonawanda. Many alumni have returned to have their children play for TFC, others have returned as coaches. Cheerleaders cheer for the football players of the same age group.
