6 - Lip bends on a G major scale - holding each note of the scale for 4 counts, and bending each note down a 1/2 step. Each note is initiated with a breath attack - Use the 2 finger

hold.

7- The Caruso 6 notes exercise.

8- The Caruso Slurred 2nds

9- The Caruso Chromatic slurs down.

(listed below is a brief description of the exercise)

The chromatic slurred down exercise is not in Caruso's Calisthenics for Brass book. They are performed as follows: Starting on 2nd line G Breath attack on that note, play it for 4 counts and then slur down to an F# and hold the F# for 4 counts - breath through nose. Play the F# with a breath attack - hold it for 4 counts and then slur to an F and hold the F for 4 counts - breath through nose. Continue in this manner until you get to the low C - hold out the low C out as a long tone.

Please note: This entire warm-up is played using breath attacks only, and the 2 - finger trumpet hold.

Follow this warm-up with all the major scales, using tongued attacks.

To Be completed soon!
