The Build Sheets pictured are typical examples of build sheets retrieved from vehicles (except for #5). They are usually torn and/or discolored unless removed early in the vehicle's life. Number '5' is a digitally reconstructed version of the sheet immediately below it. The original of these two (#6) was under the driver's seat between the wire frame and the seat bottom cushion foam. This may be one of the worse places inside the car for the build sheet to have been placed at the factory as it is the driver's seat which is the most used. The first three build sheets are for Norwood built cars. The rest are Van Nuys cars. The two plants seem to have slightly different build sheet layouts when it comes to the placement of information, particularly in the upper left and right corners. Most Norwood build sheets seem to have a pencil written number in the lower right area. Not sure what this number means.
Build sheets can 'typically' be found in one of these locations:
- Under the driver's seat
- Under the passenger front seat
- Under one of the rear seats
- Behind the seat backs of the rear seats
- On top of the gas tank (requires removal)
- It could be ANYWHERE
Some vehicles may contain more than one build sheet.
The Build Sheet is the single best information document to possess with regard to a vehicle as it spells out exactly what parts were installed on the vehicle at the factory. It also includes the dealership to which the vehicle was destined.

A quick note about the linked site - The creators of the page 'Build Sheet Bingo' endured some very tedious and detailed work. Once at the site, click on an item (purple text) and you will be automatically moved down the page to details about that item. In some cases, you are able to move on to yet more detailed info. A great deal can be learned about the Trans Am by browsing the 'Build Sheet Bingo' page and the rest of the site. You'll probably refer to it often. (Note: You'll probably move so far into the 'Build Sheet Bingo' page that pressing the BackSpace key to return here won't work). Build Sheet Bingo was created by firebirdtransamparts.com and is a part of that web site.
