MESS KIT

A personal mess kit is inexpensive and easily found.  I use the Army surplus mess kit as it is very rugged.  Some people use the plastic tray that frozen lasagna dinners come in. It works great as a bowl or a plate. Get the kind that is tough enough to withstand the oven and it will last forever.

Any tray that is deep and tough will work. (We discourage the use of disposable eating gear, It creates unnecessary waste and discourages learning how to clean up after oneself.) Heavy Duty plastic "picnic" utensils work great and are cheap and reusable. A thermal mug is a must in cold weather. Put anit-bacterial "wet wipes" towels in a zip lock, very handy to have.
