EVENTS for 2007 already in the trunk:

March 10 - Saturday, a tech/work day at Mazda of Midland.  Nineteen Miatas showed up!  Circle of Support inspections were provided by Lorenzo Hinojos, Mazda of Midland furnished pizza.  Anne Severson insulated her Miata and Earl Brem put in a new gauge package with Ben Upton's help. 

March 22Zoomer "Thursday" Dinner at Jason's Deli in Midland - 2007 officers were elected, gossip ensued as 13 of us enjoyed conversation and dinner.

May 3 - Thursday, 5:30 p.m. - Zoomer Dinner at Schlotzsky's in Midland followed by an evening with Dave Barry at Midland College Chaparral Center About 10 of us enjoyed an entertaining evening.

May 19 - Saturday - autocross event with the Porsche Club in Big Spring at the airport.  Bob Price, Rick Ganem, and Wayne Bartlett joined about 10 Porsches for a fun twisty day.

May 24 - Thursday, Zoomer Dinner at LaBodega in Midland, 14 hungry and gabby Miatafiles enjoyed an easy evening.

June 2 - Saturday, "Lap Up Lubbock" with Michael Grossie, run leader - starting at the beautiful Caprock Winery on Woodrow Road at 10:00 a.m. for wine tasting and Krispy Kremes, we had a nice drive through rural Lubbock County, ending up at Zoo-Kini's for lunch. After lunch, we saw two movies at the Science Spectrum, BEAVERS and THE ALPS. Another scenic drive ended at Gardski's for a nice dinner in an elegant old house.

June 21 - Thursday, Zoomer Dinner at Mama's Kitchen in Odessa

June 23 - Saturday, West Texas Region Porsche Club and Tumbleweed Miata Club AUTOCROSS at the old Big Spring Airport. 

July 14 - Saturday, our "10th Anniversary Run" to Balmorhea actually ended up a run to Andrews.  Seven of us visited over breakfast and gossip.

August 4 - Saturday morning, POKER RUN in the Midland environs led by Steve Spain.  15 folks enjoyed a run to seven locations followed by a chatty lunch at The Hog Pit.  The one visitor/passenger of Anne Severson's won the pot!

August 25 - St. Luke's UMC hosted us for a wonderful "Night at the Silent Movies" as Robert MacDonald accompanied two Laurel & Hardy movies at the Schantz Organ in the Sanctuary.  Laughs abounded!

August 28 - Zoomer Tuesday dinner was at Jason's Deli in Midland followed by a RoundUp 2007 packet building party at Steve Spain's home.  About 20 folks helped stuff packets with shirts/caps/maps and load them into Mark Snowden's motorhome.

August 31 - September 3 - The Tumbleweed Miata club hosted the statewide "Miata RoundUp 2007 - bend the BEND" in Alpine TX.  Events included the Marfa Lights Parade, 78-mile Ft. Davis loop drive, steak dinner with the Odessa Shrine Club, 238-mile River Drive through Presidio - Lajitas - Terlingua, awards dinner at Indian Lodge in Ft. Davis.  119 folks in 69 Miatas came from all five Texas clubs with attendees from Virginia and South Carolina.

October 20 - a Saturday trek to Sweetwater to see the WASP WWII Museum, lunch at Mrs. Allen's homestyle restaurant - led by Vickie McLean.  Seven Miatas enjoyed a gorgeous Fall day with a drive back through Robert Lee. 

November 10 - Eight of us ventured to the Black Gold Casino in Hobbs NM for a morning of testing our luck.  We enjoyed a group lunch at the buffet before heading home. 

December 1st - Annual "Christmas in the Heart of Midland" parade.  The weather was gorgeous as 6 Miatas participated this year.  The turnout was low, but we presented ourselves quite well....ask Anne Severson how many bears can be stuffed into a Miata trunk and deck!  She really outdid herself.
