Greetings in name of Yahshua Ha Mashiach, our future King of Yisrael. Here are some quotes from Bro. Karl Phillpotts Naphtali's book, The Testimony of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I: Defender of the Faith,based on H.I.M being the Elect of Elohiym(or God as ones say) and not himself like some people in Rastafari have & still misquote.
The Elect of Elohiym
"New developments in the clarification of our doctrine in accordance with the Bible, in no way deny the divine annointing or Messianic personage of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I. The key in understanding this lies in the understanding of the word HA MASHIACH. HA MASHIACH or MESSIAH is a title given to the ANNOINTED ONE or Elect of Elohiym. His Majesty bears the title Elect of Elohiym, which means chosen or annointed one, or Christ. Yet, YAHSHUA, "HA MASHIACH" is a PERSON seperate from H.I.M. Emperor Haile Selassie I. Yahshua was not merely a descendant of Dawid. To establish this fact let us look at Luke, chapter 20 v 39. Here Yahshua asked the Scribes a question: " And he said unto them, how say they that Mashiach is Dawid's son(descendant)? And Dawid himself saith in the book of Psalms, the Master said unto my Master, sit thou on my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Dawid therefore calleth Him Lord(Master), how is he then his son(descendant)? Yahshua was and is the root of the offspring of Dawid, not just a descendant, as the other Kings of Judah. He is the ETERNAL PRIEST of the MOST HIGH ELOHIYM after the order of Malakqesedek(Melchisedec), without BEGINNING END of DAYS. HE was not conceived as the other Kings, including His Majesty(Selassie I). He was born by the WORD and POWER of ELOHIYM. Dawid in a vision acknowledged Yahshua as the Master Messiah even before Yahshua was born. Yahshua is not in the same category as the other annointed Kings, Priests, and Prophets of Israel(Messianic personages).
HE is the Master Messiah. All the other Kings on Dawid's Throne were and are a shadow of Him who is to come. As His Majesty, the King has said," the Kings is not indispensable(not eternal)."
" Elohiym who at sundry times and in diverse manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS SON whom HE hath appointed Heir of all things, by whom also HE made the Worlds; Who being the Brightness of HIS GLORY, and the express image of His Person, and upholding all the things by the Word of His Power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the Right Hand of the MAJESTY on HIGH(Elohiym); Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
For unto which of the angels said HE at any time, Thou Art my SON this day I have begotten Thee? And again, I shall be to Him a Father, and He shall be to me a SON? And again, when HE bringeth in the FIRST BEGOTTEN into the World, HE saith, And let all the angels of Elohiym worship Him. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits; and His ministers a flame of fire. But unto the SON, HE saith, Thy THRONE O' ELOHIYM, is forever and ever: a SCEPTRE of RIGHTEOUSNESS is the SCEPTRE of thy KINGDOM. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore YAH even thy Elohiym, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above they fellows. But to which of the angels said HE at any time, sit thou at my Right Hand until I make thy enemies thy footstool?
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?(Hebrews 1 vs. 1-9 & 13-14)
Even His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I called Yahshua, Master. Yahshua was "crowned" with thorns, but as the Angel Gabriel had declared to Miryam(Mary, He must yet be given the throne of His father Dawid, which He did not receive at His coming 2000 years ago.(See Luke 1 vs 3) Yahshua is the non-cohabited BODY of HA MASHIACH, meaning HE was not born like the other Kings of Israel including His Imperial Majesty. In Hebrew, Shiloh means;" He whose Right it is" It is when He comes,that the Throne of Dawid will be handed over to Him, Shiloh, to establish the Kingdom in power and judgement.
At His First Coming two thousand years ago He did not set up the Kingdom in Power and Judgement as many had expected the Ha Mashiach(Lord Messiah) to do. But as Peter, the Apostle explains in Acts 3 v 21 that heaven must retain Yahshua, the Messiah appointed for you, until that period of the Restoration of all things, about which times ELOHIYM spoke by the mouth of all His holy prophets from ancient time.
In the meantime, His Majesty and the Royal Family of David, Solomon, are the cohabited Body of Mashiach that represents the Throne, until Yahshua(SHILOH)comes. Same SPIRIT but different FLESH
Obviously, Brother Karl recognizes Yahshua Ha Mashiach(known as Jesus to him)from what I've read here. He is implementing on facts that simply cannot be ignored, based on the distinction between Yahshua Ha Mashiach, & His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I. While many Rastafarians look to Haile Selassie as the man of the hour, truthfully, Yahshua is the Man of the Hour, because He is the Main Person whom Yah sent to save and redeem us unto Him again!
His Imperial Majesty's title was Elect of Elohiym, but Yahshua is Ha Mashiach, The Messiah, The King of Israel, & that is what I feel every Rastafarian needs to acknowledge. Thanks to Brother Karl Naphtali for elaborating on Yahshua Ha Mashiach. We have to really know who the Historical Messiah was and still is, and who is really His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia.
