Eulogizing Prophet Gad

Delivered by Bro. Patrick Beckford, Issachar 1st
of the Twelve Tribes of Israel
Throughout the history of Creation, the Most High hasalways chosen or anointed special persons to convey his mind and will, his Divine plan, to mankind. These chosen persons usually appear when the cry of arepentant and oppressed people genuinely go up to His
Heavenly Throne.
The Most High, the Eternal I Am, in periods of
time or dispensations, usually sends these sages,
spokes-persons, men of God, so to speak, to enlighten His people and bring them out of darkness into the light; bringing them out of confusion, apathy, hopelessness and despair; inspiring and warning them to repentance. Repentance is here defined as having a
change of mind, a change of concept, a change of
heart; having a new and enlightened outlook in
accordance to God’s Word and will, and to take a newenlightened and correct path in life.
As it was written in St Luke Chapter 3 VS3-6, John The Baptist one such individual, fulfilling the words of Isaiah is described as; …the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his pathstraight; Every valley shall be filled and every mountainand hill shall be made low; And the crooked shall be made straight; And the rough ways shall be made smooth;
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
Here in the island of Jamaica we as Rastafarians
emerged in a wilderness of religious confusion and
deception. The original Hebrew Messianic Biblical faith, which clearly promised the Good News of the final Divine overthrow of an existing evil, oppressive and unjust Satanic world order, had been replaced by erroneous teachings of an apostate religion, resembling Christianity, which told us of dying and going to heaven to inherit this promised Kingdom ofGod. The colonizing power of the Romans and Greeks, either deliberately or ignorantly distorted the teachings of the Scriptures and Christianity, blending and corrupting it with their pagan culture.
Our early fathers and elders of Rastafari, challenged these doctrines with other interpretations. In their attempt to come up with more palatable Scriptural interpretation, our early Rastafarian brethren either ‘threw out the baby with the bath water’, or came up with other doctrines which were incomplete and often even contrary to what was written in Scripture. These brethren somehow did not succeed in fully grasping or appreciating the Message of the Holy writings or the Christian Teachings of His Majesty who we claimed tofollow.
As the Scripture records, Ezekiel lamented the
state of the nation in exile, because the Lord said he sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before him, That is, to fill the void of understanding of the Scriptures; to unlock the riddle, to rightly divide the word of truth and bring this full knowledge of salvation to Hispeople.
So on this day that the Lord has made, we rejoice that the Most High has again sent to us, His people, the new Israel, the Israel of God, such a Seer, who through his obedience, humility, sacrifice and patience has brought the Rastafarian doctrine in line with the Holy Scriptures, filling the gap in the understanding of the original Gospel as taught by Jesus the Christ and the Twelve Apostles; and last but not least, the Teachings of His Imperial MajestyEmperor Haile Selassie 1st. This Seer He sent to us in the person of Dr Vernon Carrington, the prophet Gad.
Our very presence here today, from the four
corners of the earth is a living testimony to the
success of the mission on which he was sent by the
Most High to accomplish. Prophet Gad filled up the valley of misinterpretation with the Biblical teaching that God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
Prophet Gad set a crooked doctrine straight by
constantly reminding us that man’s body is the Temple of the Living God; And thus the rough road of doctrinal understanding regarding the Divinity of HisImperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie 1st was made smooth as we now understand that God the Spirit anointed His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Haile Selassie1, the Elect of God, making him the King seated on
David’s throne, the chosen instrument of the Power of the Trinity.
He trained us to read a chapter a day from Genesis to Revelation so that we would be more receptive to finding truth for ourselves. He not only taught us about the Davidic Covenant as a
current and living reality but reunited us, the Lost
Tribes of Israel, into an exceedingly great Christian army. Thus, Bro Gad’s teachings and efforts reconnected us, the lost tribes of Israel, to the House and Sovereignty of Judah in the person of Haile Selassie 1st and more currently and concretely to David’s Royal family, the house of Judah, in the person of His Highness Crown Prince Zara Yacob Asfa Wossen Haile Selassie.
But more than this He made all flesh that are
receptive, see the Salvation of God in the person of
Jesus Christ. This Iextol as Prophet Gad’s most
lasting legacy. When it was not at all popular, he
boldly stood up before his fellow brethren in the
Rastafarian community, and declared as it is written, that there was no other name given, in this world or in the world to come whereby man must be saved, but through Jesus Christ. And that every knee must bow andevery tongue must confess that Jesus is Lord. This testimony, none of us were courageous enough to utter or were converted and articulate enough to teach. But how could we have believed, when we did not hear?
In other words understand or comprehend the word; or howcould we preach when we were not sent as he Gad was? Knowing also that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God? As Phillip the Apostle asked the Ethiopian as he read from Isaiah, “Understandeth whatthou readeth? The Ethiopian was humble enough to replywith the question, “How can I understand exceptsomeone should teach me?
Today we can, with pride say that we who were
humble and willing to learn, have been well taught and educated in the Gospel by our beloved prophet and teacher, Dr Vernon Carrington Gad, at our JerusalemSchool Room and University. Some ‘picked’ up on hismessage, but unfortunately as in the parable of the sower, some seed fell on stony unfertile ground. But blessed be those who have not hardened their hearts to his words, the Bible, and the teachings of His Imperial Majesty. They will graduate into the Kingdom of God with honorary degrees.
You see brothers if we truly accept the Bible and
its great message with a clear conscience, that the
Lord our God, is One Lord and that there is only One Mediator between God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ, then we would truly have immortalized our beloved prophet Gad and ourselves. If we maintain this light, this Word, Message, Gospel, then Satan will truly have been defeated in our House. Because only through this Lamb without Blemish, the Second Adam, the one obedient unto death, the Redeemer who paid the price through His innocent blood, will we be able to regain immortality and resurrection in the Age or World to come, and be able to again eat of the tree of life in the Garden of Eden in the restored paradise on renewed earth.
Yes, the world will continue for now as prophesied. The throne of God shall remain in theHouse of David and his descendants. The scepter shall remain with Judah, His Imperial Majesty and the Royal family. But as Bro Gad was a keen reader and Teacher, pointed out: The scepter shall not departfrom Judah, UNTIL,UNTIL, UNTIL Shiloh comes: thissame one who was crowned with thorns Jesus Christ, must be crowned with Glory, and unto Him, the resurrected immortal King, Jesus, must be given the throne of David. And He Jesus must and shall brake and consume the kingdoms of this world and usher in areign of peace and justice on earth for a thousand years.
For these reasons Bro. Gad never feared death as he understood that Jesus will put the last enemy, Death, under his feet. He thus, willingly gave up the Spirit and rested from his accomplished mission, confidentthat All the faithful, as it is written will be risen from the sleep of death and given a Glorious Immortal body and will be co-rulers with Christ in His Government here on earth in the Age to come. At that time with a twinkling of the eye some alive will be transformed from mortal to immortality. May the MostHigh God have mercy on this man Prophet Gad and Grant
Him life in this Age to come so that he too may join Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the other prophets of God at the Lords Table. We pray in Jesus name. Long live the Prophet Gad. Amen.
This was a eulogy done on Dr. Vernon Carrington Gad at his memorial on April 14th, 2005, remembering his mission of not only finding the Twelve Tribes of Israel organization in Jamaica & worldwide, teaching about reading the Scriptures a Chapter a day, implementing on the Nation of Yisrael, the Kingdom of Elohim on Earth, & being bold to say that we are saved in no other name but Yahshua Ha Mashiach! HalleluYah! He spread this message to the four corners of the Earth & will never be forgotten in not only T.T.I but the whole world. May peace be always upon Prophet Gad.
