RASTAFARI ON MARCUS GARVEY

                              Mr. Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

Greetings & Love.Through all of these reasonings, what have you learned so far about  the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey? A whole lot I hope. Well here is more to be learnt on him by the Rastafarian people. Rastas are also showing ones certain truth on this man Marcus Garvey.  Although they are different Rastafari views on Garvey, all should be tolerated even if disagreeable.  Many Rastas see him as a messenger, an African Revolutionary, & to some  he is the second coming of John the Baptist. Some even refer to him also as the Black Tiger. Rastafarians acknowledge that Marcus Mosiah Garvey predicted H.I.M. Haile Selassie I's coronation as King of Kings of Ethiopia in 1930. He did say," Look towards Africa for the crowning of a King, for the day of deliverance is near." Some deny that Garvey made this prophetical declaration on Ras Tafari being the future King. Well it is possible that he did make this speech why should ones doubt it? However, later on, Marcus criticized Haile Selassie, which was a plain simple mistake he made. Garvey didn't realise that His Imperial Majesty only pleaded with the League of Nations to prevent World War II.

So he ridiculed the Emperor saying that He should have  stayed & fought for Ethiopia, rather than fleeing like a coward. This isn't a lie I've read this statement by Marcus Garvey for myself, & it really showed me that he became a carper towards His Imperial Majesty. These ridiculements  towards His Majesty,  probably did cause Garvey's downfall when he resided in London at the time, before passing in 1940. The London U.N.I.A. chapter was abased & Garvey died a lonely man because he spoke against  Emperor Selassie I? Maybe. Some Rastas did reject  Garvey for speaking against His Majesty. Yet they shouldn't refrain from listening to Garvey's words no matter what, because he wasn't perfect, all human beings make mistakes in their lives. Marcus Garvey could be a type of John the Baptist, but surely not the Prophet John. For John didn't deny Yahshua, from what I've read  in the Holy Bible. Marcus Garvey was a prophet, a Black Moses, the one who indeed liberated black people worldwide. African people truly have to thank Garvey for what he did for them! Marcus Garvey was an African  freedom fighter. Certain Rastafarians actually believe  He's the Most High in a prophetic structure? The Rastafarian group known as the EABIC(Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress) or BoboShanti, uphold Haile Selassie, Prince Emmanuel Charles Edwards, & Marcus Garvey, as the Most High in three persons. Or Prophet, Priest, and King as they teach within the Bobo Camp.Click on this link. Trinity

However, I'm not opposing their views though I disagree with this doctrine. What exactly was Marcus Garvey's comments when finding out that Rastafarians praise His Majesty?  He probably told them," You are making a mistake the Emperor is only a man." Rumours are that Marcus Garvey refused to meet with the Rastafarians?  Was it because he knew of the worship of H.I.M., or is this just Babylonian propaganda to prevent Rastas from learning more on Garvey? I wouldn't doubt it at all,  because Marcus Garvey & H.I.M. Haile Selassie are honored by Rastafarians. Garvey was even a Christian, & infact inspired ministers to construct black churches.  Such as The Abyssinian Coptic Church, Ethiopian Baptist Church, African Orthodox Church, etc. Marcus Garvey  highly spoke on the Messiah, I've read it myself. He even endorsed the Nicene Christian Creed(God the Father, God the Son, & God the Holy Spirit, the One God of all ages belief) within the U.N.I.A.(Universal Negro Improvement Association Inc.) Read his book, Philosophy & Opinions of Marcus Garvey for yourselves as proof.  He was an Afrocentric person though he was also a Christian.

Black Supremist?
I've heard ones say that Marcus Garvey was a black supremist. In his same book, Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey, he clearly spoke on African advancement.  What is Black Supremacy? A black ideology of Africans being supreme over others since they were the first civilized people on earth. Like white supremacy in a sense? No, that kind has extremely done alot of damage towards African people. I've never seen black people lynching  white people on trees, or burning them on stakes, like white supremists have done. It is for the upliftment of the people, but it could also cause hatred among some. For  the old saying is, "People can fight war even with words."  Well, despite what others believe, I rather see the Most High's Supremacy. Because only HE is SUPREME above all human beings, & we must only bow to Him! I find that if anyone teaches a humanly supremacy, it is against the Most High, because He is only Our RULER, no one else!  Infact, Marcus Garvey quoted," There is no supreme or inferior race, we all were created by One God." Marcus Garvey even had white friends also which shows that he wasn't a prejudice person at all even if ones deny it. The Boboshanti whom Reggae artists, Capleton & Sizzla were influenced by, teaches specifically on Black Supremacy, which they learned from Prince Emmanuel, the leader of the Bobo Shantis.

Garvey taught on black pride & dignity not black supremacy. He taught black people their history & uplifted them by saying, "Africa for the Africans at home and abroad!" Capleton, Sizzla, & Anthony B, sing alot about African History. But maybe this black superior thought  could cause hatred within the Rastafari Movement. Some who use this phrase could be hatemongers. If you accept  Black Supremacy, then make sure you don't preach hate.

I admire their strength in singing about black people's freedom as Rastafarians,  which Reggae Music was created for also. Africans aren't free, & will not be until Messiah liberates black people spiritually. We should speak our minds, which Burning Spear & Luciano are definitely doing now, including others!

These two singers, Burning Spear & Luciano, are heartical Rastafarians. They don't sing any vulgar lyrics as some artists do, but teach about African advancement & unity to the people. I've also heard them singing about the Most High's supremacy & upholding it. Africa's history is preached by them & both certainly follow Garvey's words. Burning Spear sings alot about Garvey in his lyrics, along with Haile Selassie I & Africa. He sang, "No one remembers ole Marcus Garvey." Similarly, he was born in the same parish as Marcus Garvey & Bob Marley in St. Anne's, Jamaica. Spear is a Garveyite like some Rastafarians then & today. Black People should know that they besides the Most High, are the Earth's first architects.

I don't see any problem with black people recognizing themselves as Africans, & teaching the history. For this is one of the reasons why the Rastafari Movement was also developed in the first place. He certainly taught African unity & nationalism to the people. Which are very important subjects Rastas  should focus on if they still pursue to build a United States of Africa. It is necessary to educate black people & wake them up from their sleep and slumber. After all it was only black people who endured  slavery from Babylon, & had  their own Culture, & Knowledge taken away!  Black  people do need to know themselves again as Africans. There might be some who preach Black Supremacy, & are prejudice to white people. Yet, this isn't love being shown here at all.

No one shouldn't teach about prejudice or hate, because should always love the Father not satan! Please always emphasize on love for we don't want any satanic vibes! Marcus Garvey was a black freedom fighter. Like H.I.M. Haile Selassie, Rastafarians should also listen to the Hon. Marcus Garvey. Marcus like Haile, has taught Rastas about Africa, which is necessary for the Movement's upliftment.  His Majesty & Marcus Garvey truly elevated  black people's minds consciously. Garvey & Selassie were instruments of the Most High. They taught black people their African History. By these two men the Rastafari Movement has flourished over the years & more accomplishments are being made within the Rastafari Community because of Haile Selassie and Marcus Garvey's teachings and philosophies.Thank you for listening to this discussion Rastafari on Marcus Garvey. Peace and Love.
