The occult and the paranormal. What does God say

Satan disguises himself as someone good:
"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve." (2 Cor. 11:13-15)

Don't associate with evil:
"Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them." (Eph. 5:11)

God is against sorcery (magick), divination (gaining knowledge through supernatural methods such as astrology, channeling, psychic powers, palm reading, etc.) and spirit contact: ..................."Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, .................or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord." (Deut. 18:10-12a) ......................Consult God, not psychics or channelers:
"When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? ........................

Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light in them." (Is. 8:19,20)

God is against astrology:
"Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is to come upon you. ......................Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame." (Is. 47:13,14a) ...................The occult tries to turn us away from truth:
"The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer...opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from he faith. ....................Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, 'You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right!' (Acts 13:7-10a) .....................Satan prowls for prey: "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) .....................How to resist Satan:
"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7) ....................In Christ, we are safe:
"The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." (1 John 4:4b) ..................5. Jesus is not THE Savior He was merely a highly evolved man, He was another guru teaching the same as all the rest, studying in India to prepare for his mission. This New Age teaching clearly marks its adherents as part of the anti-Christ, I John 4:1-3. .......................Jesus is THE Savior Jesus is the Son of God, He lived a perfect life, died for our sins, was resurrected from the dead and He is alive for evermore. Gurus deny the existence of sin, while Christ condemns sin and calls sinner to repentance, and died for the sins of the world. ................... Gurus are vegetarians, whereas Jesus was not. Gurus teach there are many ways to God, but Jesus says He is the way the truth and the life, the only way to the Father. .................Spirit "entities" contacted by New Agers in their spiritual encounters endlessly repeat the three-fold lie of Satan: There is no death, man is God, knowledge of the self leads to one's own divinity, transformation, salvation and power. .......................

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 18:37 "You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."

e ad's theme was that the Bible says no to homosexual behavior. It listed the references to four Bible passages, Romans 1, Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 .......................Leviticus 20:13, says, according to the New International Version, "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." .................................Spiritual Adultery and Death - The Scriptures condemn all forms of occultism and sorcery, and warn that ...they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:19-21) but ...are an abomination unto the Lord (Deut. 18:12) and ...shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone (Rev. 21:8). .........................From earliest times God forbade occultism as spiritually defiling (Lev. 19:31 and made participation in it it punishable by death (Ex. 22:18; Lev. 20:27) and cause for rejection of that soul by God (Lev. 20:6). .........................According to the Scriptures, the sins of the fathers are visited upon the third and fourth generations of those who disobey God. It is carefully pointed out in Exodus 20:5 when the law was given, and is specifically connected with the commandment prohibiting the construction and worship of graven images which constitutes the worship of demons. ..........................For those who disregard this stark warning and make contact with occult spirits, there will be terrible and certain repercussions in the form of sickness, misery, insanity, and sometimes an early death. ....................Occult involvement can come from previous generations (Deut. 5:7-9). Check yourself out with the following lists: .........................Fortune telling (Proverbs 3:5-7): Palm-reading, crystal ball, cards, tea leaves, handwriting analysis; games such as Ouija, ESP, Telepathy, Kabala, Horoscope, Clairvoyant, Voodoo, etc.; pendulums, horoscopes, and astrology; anything that predicts your future or advises your life (Isaiah 47:13; II Kings 1:1-4). ........................Magic Practices and Spiritism (Deut. 18:9-12): mediums and seances, table- tipping, levitation, necromancy, communicating with the dead or spirit guides, automatic writing, divining, water-witching, or dowsing with forked sticks or other objects for water, oil, minerals, underground sewer and water lines, etc ............................Enchanter - One who uses the human voice or music to bring another person under psychic control. Hypnosis and spell casting comes under enchantments. (The believer should be controlled only by the Holy Spirit. He does not need an enchanter to get into his mind to discover the past, present or future. All he has to do is ask God who will give him all the wisdom he needs (James 1:5). ........................Witch and Wizard - Female and male, respectively, who practice white, grey, or black magic. Anyone who use clairvoyant or psychic powers such as ESP, mental telepathy, levitation of objects, astral projection, etc. In the Old Testament physical death was the cure for witchcraft (Ex. 22:18); in the New Testament eternal damnation (Galatians 5:20:21). .......................Consulter With Familiar Spirits - A medium who uses a demon or evil spirit to tell them about the present or future of individuals, or the location of lost persons or objects. (In Acts 16:16-18 Paul met a fortune telling girl who had a familiar spirit or a spirit of divination. Paul cast the spirit out of her. He would have never done this if it was a gift from God.) ...............................Necromancer - This is a medium who consults a demon that mimics a dead person. The necromancer will often go into a trance and let the evil spirit take over his body and speak through him. ....................... (Ecc. 9:5-6) tells us that the dead do not know anything, that they have no emotions, and they have no portion of the earth. It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment (Heb. 9:27.) The spirit of a dead person either goes to heaven or hell when he dies. ........................Ezekiel 28:9 Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I [am] God? but thou [shalt be] a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee. ........................The worship of Diana in Ephesus was another stronghold of earth-centered goddess cults. Dianic witchcraft was the greatest single unifying religion among all pagan people up to that time. ....................It took 220 years to build the massive temple to Diana in Ephesus. But when Paul preached the Gospel of Jesus to the Ephesians, ................."Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. ..................So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed" (Acts 19:17-20). ......
