Industry Guideline for DD CLC/TS50131-3 (Control and Indicating equipment)
This guideline allows the industry to use DD CLC/TS50131-3, in conjunction
with pr EN50131-1:2004. Certain aspects of DD CLC/TS 50131-3 requires slight modification, or an interpretation to enable equipment to be manufactured to provide the functionality for systems to comply with the requirements of PD 6662: 2004.

Guidance notes for the Installation and Monitoring of Alarm Systems using Confirmation Technology
The ACPO Security Systems Policy 2000 states that, as from 1st October 2001, all newly installed security systems that require a URN, and existing systems that lose police response should include confirmation technology. Read our guidance notes on confirmation technology now!

Industry Guideline for EN50131-6 (Power Supplies)

In order for the effective implementation of intruder alarm systems meeting
the requirements of PD6662:2004, this document has been prepared to give
guidance on the interpretation of some of the clauses in the standard that have been open to misinterpretation or that are in need of further clarification.

 BSIA Security Systems Section Strategy
This strategy, which has been compiled by BSIA intruder alarm installation and monitoring companies, sets out their aims and objectives to improve intruder alarm systems thereby reducing false alarms passed to the police.

Basic Guide for installers to BS 8418 systems
The BSIA CCTV Section has recognised the need for an “Installers Guide to BS 8418:2003” for the installation and remote monitoring of detector activated CCTV systems,. This relatively new standard outlines responsibilities for the installer, Remote Video Response Centre and end user, and is a mandatory requirement for obtaining a Unique Reference Number (URN) by the Police for Level 1 response to BS 8418:2003 systems.

New ACPO Policy 2004
The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) of England, Wales and Northern Ireland recognise the rapid development of technology and its use within security systems. This policy details the police response which can be expected to an electronic security system which is identified in the ACPO "Requirements for Security System Services".
