US Bank employee complaints on the message boards
Bottom line is employees all get royally screwed As a current USB employee
From middle-management on down, the level of frustration and apathy is appaling Actually...USB Top Brass Is That Bad
Customer service has downgraded since the merger with First Bank Systems. The branch system has been hit by a lot of cost cutting measures which has reduced staffing and expertise Customer service
A number of middle managers and staff members from banks that USB has acquired are looking for greener pastures. They've discovered that being a part of a large, bureaucratic and poorly managed institution is not what they had expected.....Bigger, is not always better You're not kidding
Not only has USB cut salarys for the employees it prides itself on being the cheap bastard on the block!! Cost cutting is good, but
This is truly an unknown concept at USB.....USB has no idea what customer service means CUSTOMER SERVICE
Dear Jack:Rather than politely suggest you resign as CEO of USB I will be more blunt. YOU'RE FIRED!.....you sold out prior to notifying your shareholders....You promised what you can't deliver....You cheat your FSLA employees out of earned wages....You illegally sell confidential customer information to those damn telemarketers....You are pissing your customers off
Fire the good employees, intimidatethe remaining ones with crap...US Bank employees in Arizona, who are the internal customers of HR, are exposed to consistently rude, most unprofessional behavior from their "team members". The 5 Star Guarantee is the biggest joke there is!
We are not stupid, we realize that shareholder value is number one, executive compensation is number two, customer satisfaction is number three, and providing a decent working environment for the line employees who attempt to deliver under poor fte ratios, non-existent training, unresponsive management, antiquated equipment, lousy communication is ranked number 3 billion Good intentions but weak employee
No matter how hard I tried everything around me at U.S. Bank seemed to be going to hell and there was nothing much I could do about it Goodbye U.S. Bancorp
U.S. Bank is not in any danger of going under, but they will never amount to anything more than a third rate bank Goodbye U.S. Bancorp cont.
Customer service is not a revenue generating activity in today's U.S. Bank so employees are discouraged from wasting their time in that activity Goodbye U.S. Bancorp cont.
The last three years, it has been widely felt among employees that we are not valued, and that the only concern is the corporate bottom line I could go on and on with multiple examples! Grundhoffer SUCKS
Employees that were originally advised of severance are having to complete resumes within a few weeks of their severance date for possible redeployment within the company as a result of excessive expertise leaving the company...it has been very disrutptive to many lives, and has contributed to fostering negative internal moral as well as an overall feeling of mistrust and unknowns Internal Operations
----The service is horrible---nobody knows what they are doing at these banks.....They don't have customer service---management has cut and slashed and burned this baby--- Poor Service thats killing
I believe it is possible that many others have been treated as we were and denied the enhanced package unfairly Job Eliminations
As a long term employee at USB, all I can tell you is that the culture here is paranoiac regarding credit quality Just a word
As a former employee, it is disheartening to see the years of emphasis on customer service tossed to the wind More on Service
What a great and wonderful company to have worked for and/or invested in. Cameron, Grundhoefer, and Heasley must be really proud of themselves One more insult to employees
A large portion of the employees that have left in the West are a direct result of working under constant fear of being fired. I used to sit in on those sales managers meetings and it was stated very plainly, "Make your numbers or find another job" Poor Treatment
I'm no longer part of USB, but I can confirm much pressure was brought to bear on United Way and PAC contributions while I was there. I was responsible for people making wages below the poverty line, but each was expected to contribute to UW and PAC BOD
Many accounts were opened and loans booked without the customers knowing....When the house of cards started falling apart, Grundy #1 got Grundy #2 to come to the rescue Employee Rewards
You simply can not trust what this company tells you, whether you are an employee or customer or both, as it continually changes Screwed Again
It was the greed...As a former VP for US Bank, I worked steady 60+ hour weeks for the last few years, and it is a hard thing to accept that all of my dedication didn't matter Understanding Anger
USBank is out to make money, period. To them you are a number. Of course they want to keep you as a customer, it keeps there revenue up. And being an employee once again, I agree that USBank sucks! US Bank employees know the truth
Over the past several years I have heard over and over again about the operational efficiencies enjoyed by USB and how it is one of the most attractive bank stocks out there...What they fail to consider is the downside risk associated with how Grundhoffer (Jack the Ripper) has accomplished this--- through an aggressive and sometimes hostile acquisition strategy USB not a pretty picture
No doubt, their style is "management with a hammer", as quoted earlier. I have seen many good employees ruined by their "shut up and do it" management style and management by public humiliation and ridicule USB unworthy of exisiting
I would rather take a beating than have anything to do with these devils. Working for US BANK is like being in prison Price up, Volume up
The only performance factor is getting the most calls answered (customer's dealt with) for the fewest dollars possible....God help the customer with a lost payment, or checks stolen, or trying to get a lien release Quality costs too much for USB
The Goosepoppers corrupted that poor company to the point that it has been operating at a level just a few notches above organized crime Piper Jaffray Tangle
Harrassed by not only the branch manager but the human resources dept. as well US Bank work environment
The Quality Council is a sham, at least from what I hear. Beating people up for using too many pens, and that's about it Quality, Schmailty
US Bank is cutting the pay for bankers in 2004 - drastically...Bank of America, Washington Mutual, Wells Fargo, and all you other banks - here's your chance to recruit some damn good employees Pay cut for bankers
To this day, I still am unsure of what my file is stating the reason for my termination From the complaint files Also upon reading the paperwork sent for termination it did not say that you would be screwed by the next morning. USB cancelled my options the next morning and that superseded my call From the complaint files
Everything is on the cheap, especially salary (yes, Virginia, it is true that everyone has to purchase their own paperclips) Customer products are designed with only one thought, fees fact vs fiction
What a weird place, a place where you can proudly be ashamed of your team mates Management Changes

Received official news that we are no longer to refer to the banks as old USB and Firstar. It is now USB West and US Beast US Beast
USBank, or A New Clam for My Belly I've thought of USBank as a terrible bank for a long time now, but this absolutely seals it. First they do poorly by their customers (me, Brent, et al), now they turn the screws on my mom
