Complaints and information about the Better Business Bureau (BBB)

We filed complaints against US Bank with The Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee, Nashville. We were assigned a case number and given an agent. US Bank refused to respond to our complaint for months.

The BBB claims that a company must “properly and promptly address matters referred to it.” But they allowed US Bank to delay an answer. Then, after we insisted that the BBB obtain a response from US Bank, they received a response about 3 months later. US Bank misled saying this matter was under litigation, citing a different case, not answering to our complaints directly against US Bank and then chose not to comment. The Better Business Bureau then said “at least you got an answer.” That was the end of the BBB participation.

The BBB did not advertise our complaint as unresolved or that it was even filed and as far as we know, they never have, even within the 3 year reporting period. Our complaints remain unresolved. Our issue with US Bank remains unsatisactory.

It appears that the BBB is violating the consumers with the very practice (mis-leading advertising) that they claim to help resolve.

The Better Business Bureau also claims that a company “be free from an unusual volume or pattern of complaints and law enforcement action involving its marketplace conduct.” It appears that the BBB does not really follow that policy. If they did, we believe that they would be looking into US Bank and suspending their membership. We believe that the pattern of complaints and misconduct involving US Bank is outrageous.

Apparently, the Better Business Bureau is paid by their members. It appears that the BBB chooses to take the money paid to them from their members and ignore certain consumer complaints. Consumers have been forced to start their own complaint sites or go to other complaint sites to report such conduct. It is believed that the complaints and lawsuits on the Internet are only a fraction of the problems at US Bank
