The photo album of Radioman 2nd Class Niles C. "Sonny" Jordan
Sonny Jordan was raised in Lyman, Washington, and was a local baseball star. He was scouted by professional baseball recruiters, but WWII intervined before his career could really get started.
After the war, he played for several professional teams, including the Cardinals, the Pirates, and the Phillies. He was known by many as "Two Rivers" Jordan, and in his first professional game, he pitched a no-hitter. When he was sent down, he played for semipro and farm teams in Northwestern Washington. While playing football for the local junior college, he was injured, ending his professional baseball career.
He passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008 in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, just a few miles from where he grew up.
Sonny was unable to name any of the people in the photos, and he did not appear in any of them. If anyone can identify anyone in any of the photos, the help would be gratefully appreciated. Please identify the picture number, and where the identified person is from the left lower corner of the picture.
