London-Western High School Invitational Wrestling Tournament

Location: Thames Hall, The University of Western Ontario, London, ON, N6A 3K7
Start Time: 9:30 a.m.
Eligibility: All wrestlers must be in high school and supervised by a coach or designate and be a member of a club or H.S. team. (No independents!). Note: To control size of tournament, coaches must confirm participation with numbers with tournament convenor. Note: Teams/Clubs must notify tournament director in advance to participate.
Weight Classes (kg): Use these weights with 1.0 kg allowance.
Boys: 38, 41, 44, 47.5, 51, 54, 57.5, 61, 64, 67.5, 72, 77, 83, 89, 95 kg, Unlimited. Plus 1 kg.
Girls: 41, 44, 47.5, 51, 54, 57.5, 61, 64, 67.5, 72, 77, 83, Unlimited. Plus 1 kg.
Divisions: 1. Boys Cadet (born 1991-1992), 2. Boys Open (born 1990-87). 3. Girls Cadet (born 1991-1992). 4. Girls Open (born 1990-87).
Match time: Best 2 of 3 periods, with each period 2 mins. Coaches will be informed of any changes prior to the tournament.
Rules: OFSAA rules.
Draw: Double elimination to determine top 4, or round-robin for smaller weight groups.
Entry fee: $15.00 per wrestler. Please make cheques payable to “Western Wrestling”. Entry fees to be paid prior to start time.
Awards: Medallions to the top three competitors in each weight class. The top team will be awarded the team trophy. Scoring for the team will be calculated by the best finisher in each weight class from any one team. Only top 4 placed finishes to count towards team score (1st - 10 pts, 2nd - 7 pts, 3rd - 5 pts, 4th – 3 points).
Weigh-ins: Coaches will weigh-in own team anytime between Thursday Nov 30 and Friday Dec 1. Entries must be received by Friday 1:00 pm. No entries after this time. Entries must be e-mailed: to <PERKINSW@ROGERS.COM>and <TAK@UWO.CA>followed up with a phone call (519) 672-0704. Entries must include the following information: 1. Coach/Supervisor’s name, team, and contact info (your phone number). 2. Wrestler’s name, age, and gender. 3. Weight class. Note: If there are 3 or more cadets in any weight class the wrestlers will be grouped in their own cadet division. If there are less than 3, cadet wrestlers will not be separated.
Draw confirmation: Coaches are to check the draw by 8:45 am Saturday for any errors. “No shows” will be treated as scratches. No changes to the draw after 9:00 am (Pairing master’s discretion).
Trainer: There will be a trainer on site: Those requiring taping must bring their own supplies.
Hospitality Room: There will be a hospitality room for coaches, officials and volunteer staff.
Concession: There will a concession stand available throughout the day
Skin check: Coaches or medical personnel are to conduct a skin-check of all team members at home weigh-ins. Any wrestler with a skin rash/lesion or condition will not be permitted to compete. The tournament convener has the authority to pull any wrestler out of the tournament (before or during) if he suspects any skin condition on any wrestler. There will be a skin check for all wrestlers just prior to competition.
Parking: There are coin gate-lots at $4.00 per day. Attendent lots are flat fee rates of $5.00
