Terri McNutt selected as Western’s Athlete of the Year

Terri McNutt was selected as Western’s Female Athlete of the Year and awarded the FWP Jones Trophy at the annual Intercollegiate Athletic Banquet.  The CIS gold medallist capped off a stellar university career winning four OUA Championship titles and three CIS medals including gold in her final year of eligibility at Western. 

The mustang co-captain and graduate nursing student led the team to a second place finish at the OUA Championships and 5^th place team placing the CIS Championships.  Terri amassed an impressive record of compiling the most victories by pin (63) and most tournaments won (20 gold in tournament competition) by any mustang, both men and women.  The Joyceville, Ontario native has not lost to an OUA opponent over the last four seasons.  Her only recorded loss was to teammate and past FWP Jones winner, Belinda Chou during 2004-05 season.  Terri achieved Academic All-Canadian status in 2004-05 by maintaining an "A" grade.  She is currently ranked number one in North America among university and college women at 51 kg.  Terri is scheduled to compete in the Senior National Open in May 2006 and the Canada Cup in July.

Terri will continue to compete with London-Western and will provide leadership to the mustang varsity program in 2006-07.  Congratulations!
