| Reflet Program Tutorial Generates Waves Tutorial by Neenee 8/30/04 You may print this tut out for your own personal use or link to it- but please do not copy and post anywhere else - thank you! personal photo - taken by Neenee, of an actual duck pond near my home- for this tut- I cut out the original water - and this generator made the water just as pretty as the original! This wonderful program is a stand alone program (Freeware) - NOT a plug-in ~ it is in French - and this Tutorial will help explain how to use it - it's really very simple - must be - because I do not read or speak French ;) - if you like your graphics to have some animated foreground- that looks like rippling water - this is a very neat program! Download Reflet HERE into a folder you have created, name it Reflet, in your documents - or anywhere you would like- open the file with Winzip and right click on the - choose create shortcut - and with your mouse, slide the icon down onto your desktop. Once it's there, double click the icon and this screen will open Click on the folder Icon - this opens your computer - locate a jpeg or gif you would like to have animated and open it- it will now appear on your Reflet screen ( for best results keep your image cropped to a size 400x300 or smaller) Click the that is next to the folder-this will *animate the image and give it a rippling water effect. Where it says Images on the screen- choose 3 - it will save you some loading space ;) - Hauter (%) gives you the option of exactly how much of the image you want animated - experiment with this- if you choose 100% - the entire picture will double in size - if you have sky - it will be reflected in the water. If you choose 50% - the lower half of the photo image will only be animated - showing just a portion of the sky ( or upper half) - 20% will animate even less - it all depends on what effect you are looking for - so experiment with this. Click on Perspective for the best rippling effect - it looks more natural. ( you can manipulate the tabs on the right if you choose 100% so you can see the entire image) In the upper left top of your screen- where it says Fichier - if you click on that-and choose Ouvrir- that also means open- an alternative way to open your computer to select a photo- next to that it says Options- click on this- *Animations should be checked for the water to actually animate - if your water isn't animating - look here first - if that isn't checked- that was your problem! Vitesse gives you 3 options on the SPEED of your animation- Lente is slow, Moyenne is a bit faster - more natural - and Rapide- is rapid or very fast. Beneath the speed options - it says Type de vague - this gives you 3 options for the length of your waves - courte being the shortest, moyenne being a bit longer and longue being the longest - experiment with these for the results you want. When you are satisfied with your animated water image- save it by clicking on this icon this screen will pop up - use these settings and click OK You can now save the image in your computer - another little screen will pop up- it's a confirmation screen if you choose oui- which means yes in French- it will give you a preview of the animation- if you choose non- it will not.
