THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER JANET SCOTT, MANAGER, UPDATED NOVEMBER 18, 2006 Poem of the Week Appassionata by SerenityTass 09/18/07 APPASSIONATA Sinfonia a due: prelude. Adagio … softly, sweet harmony and melody sweep in unison over her Klavier, the fingering exquisite. dolce, dolce … Andante … gently flowing, velvet eyelids close, magenta lips open the maestro’s baton rising. Rhapsodic rhythm caresses, pianissimo, with infinite finesse. Then, with la main gauche, the virtuoso touch of crotchets in the crutch, on the diatonic scale of (labia) major or minor. Ambidextrous counterpoint - the master plays with the demisemiquavers of her libido. Now the semiquaver resonates on her balalaika in perfect cadence, as the orchestration rises an octave. Accelerando - but gently! A little arpeggio to riffle the keys; a little allegro to provoke Desire. Quavers and quivers … as, upstanding, the French horn performs impromptus delectable. Tubular bells ring out as the haunting notes of the violin reverberate on her G string. Now, prestissimo … and the dominant fifth’s soaring power leaves her breathless, awaiting the finale. The timpani thunders, cymbals crash, forte and fortissimo! And, filling all space and time, the majestic organ swells in tumescent tumult, to issue forth its notes of joy sublime.
