The name "Los Tuxtlas" derives from the náhuatl (Aztec language) word "toxtli" (rabbit). The region, located in the southeast of the state of Veracruz, is a succession of mountains of volcanic origin, and represents the northern most tropical rain forest on our planet.. ("DEMATAC")
