http://www.adn.com/money/industries/oil/story/8410234p-8305042c.html Some longtime observers of the council responsible for managing the $900 million Exxon Valdez oil spill settlement accused the panel's three state members of trying to orchestrate a "raid" on what remains of the money.
A letter signed by the three state appointees -- Attorney General David Marquez, environmental conservation Commissioner Kurt Fredriksson and fish and game Commissioner McKie Campbell -- suggested the council spend nearly $50 million on projects such as sewer and harbor upgrades, a community center in Cordova, a boardwalk and trail system in Valdez and a state fisheries research center in Kodiak.

That's a surprise. Why wouldn't Valdezians want to know what effect the EVOS cleanup chemicals had on our people? They were drug through our town, and then the workers came back, after being overexposed to 2-butoxyethanol, and brought it back again.
How many people would still be alive & living in health today, had that never happened?
