I know you could barely sleep last night. You want to get out there and see what you can find.

Well, go ahead. get out there and spend sometime digging up some trash. This is part of learning !

The most valueable thing you can do is spend time reading your owners manual. You wouldn't even believe how many folks get a detector and barley even look at the manual.

The next most important thing is don't go out an dig  crators at your local park. This will have everyone mad at you .

Most of your owners mauals have a recovery method in them  (Read it.)  Making of large holes in the park will get all of us ran off.

After you pinpionted the item to be recovered, locate it with your probe  ( I use  screw driver for a probe) work it to the surfice using  yourscrew dirver. It takes practice but you will get good at it.
Point is , it's not nessarry to dig a crattor to retreive a coin. Make use of  some of the books that I have recommended. I have made a hyperlink page that goes more into detail about pin pointing, read it, practice it.

Make your self a  practice garden. Bury items that you dig everyday. You may have several types of pop tops buried.  Bury them at differant depths so you can see how your detector will respond.

You can also save the same types of items for bench testing. You can do this when it's just to nasty to go outside. Bench testing is good but a practice garden is better.

If you truely want to no more, please join and post your request on the message board, either I or someone in this group will help you .
