Vivism and
Clothing
Nowadays (end 2004) there's often a lot ado about muslem-women in Western-Europe, wearing some kinds of clothes, that are very unusual in this area.
By now, more and more authorities dare to prohibit wearing them.
For instance the Burka. (Women wearing this, are completely covered by clothes. There's just a split, through which they can look). The municipality of Antwerp and other Belgian cities have prohibited wearing it, because it is prohibited there (like in many other places), to be in the street, while masked.
Juridically the question must be posed here, whether wearing this kind of clothes is a way of masking. When this happens, because one is oblidged to, for religious reasons, or because it belongs to ones culture, that is something completely different from dressing with the only purpose, that one is unrecognisable.
And then there is the link with nature. Naturally, man is living in a surrounding of vegetation, that is not only giving him that much shelter, that he doesn't really need any clothes, to stay 'on temperature', but also gives him the hideaway, he needs, because in fact he's a so called shy animal. (This means, that it doesn't want to be gazed at by just anyone else, but is very selective in this aspect. When there's somebody or some other animal there, it doesn't mind to or even wants to be seen by, it comes out of the shrubs, but when there's somebody or some animal there, by who/which it doesn't wants te be seen, it keeps hidden away).
Now, because by now the overgreat part of natural vegetation on Earth already has been destroyed by the latest specimen in evolution (that evidently still has to learn, how to use the strongly extended mass of brains, it has been provided with), folks, that are strongly attached to nature, have been finding out ways, to replace this vegatation as far as concerns it's function of giving them hideaway. They wear clothes, that cover them completely, or nearly completely, in places, where they don't want all others, that are, or may be, present there, to see, what is covered.
Prohibiting this, can be seen as a measure, that frustrates human's nature even more, after what already has happened to it, due to destruction of natural vegetation.
