WADER - Family History / Genealogy / Research whatever you call it, were glad it brought you here. I created this web site with the intentions of posting information about deceased members of the Wader family, their deceased spouses, and deceased descendants. This information is all public information and in most cases is found in other places on the internet. Please do not post any message on the message board that you do not want to be public knowledge since I want the general public to be able to access my site. You never know where you might get a good lead from.
My grandfather told my mother that August Wader was born at sea on the way from Germany and that his parents didn't survive the trip. We found where August married Mrs. Laura Brown in Jefferson County Missouri in 1890. One of my Aunts thinks August is buried just west of St. Genevieve, MO. She remembers the name was a different version of the name Wader. Not long ago I posted a death certificate for Agustus Wadey to this site. I am convinced this is August. There are a few things that conflict with information that had been handed down like the death certificate listing him as a widow. I had been told that when Laura died that Joe took Julius and lived in caves and was a hobo because he was afraid Julius would be taken away from him.
We think Laura's maiden name was Ware. We think she was married to a Charles Brown. She had a son named John Brown when she married August. Laura and August had two sons in Jefferson County, Missouri. Their names were Joseph Henry and William Elsworth. They also had a son named Julius born on Iron Mountain, Missouri. We think there were three or four girls. Susan E, Elizabeth, Mary and Lena. Susan E and Elizabeth may be the same person. The 1900 census says Susan E was born April 1895 in MO.
Laura , John, Joseph, William and Susan E were the only family members listed on the 1900 Washington County Missouri Federal Census.
John Brown married twice. The second marriage was to Rachel Hampton.
Joseph Wader married Katherine Baldwin in Iron County, MO. She was the daughter of Mary Angel and George Washington Baldwin.
William Wader married Molly Ketcherside and Bertha Cots. The 1920 census lists his wife as Maude. She had children named Yancy.
Julius married Ruth Freeman.
We have no record of the girls. We have heard that Laura Wader died in a cyclone near Bismark or Elvins. One of the girls may have died with her. We have also heard that August may have died in a car wreck near Hwys C and 21.
We would welcome and appreciate any information, corrections, or clues that anyone could give us. We would love to hear from any distant family.
