Heather's (2nd manager) Poems
All of the poems on this page
are written by: Heather Robert age 16

My Life

I had dreams,
I had goals and ambitions,
I had a normal life.

It took one track meet,
It took only one fall,
It took my dreams away.

I've had tests,
I've had treatments and procedures,
I've had chronic pain for over two years.

You can call me "different",
You can call me a liar,
You can call me crazy.

Everyday I have constant pain,
Everyday I have a lot of pain,
Everyday I have excruciating pain!

How would you like to live my life?
By: Heather

Life is like a Journey

Life is like a journey.
We all finish in the same place,
But we each follow a separate path to get there.
Some trails are curvy and a few bumps along the way.
Others are straight, steady, perfect, and no disruptions.
Then you have those who have an up-hill battle,
A struggle to make it to their dreams and goals.
Those people have life the hardest.
They don't know what the next day will bring,
Will it bring them more pain?
Will it bring sadness?
What about disappointment?
They have to deal with daily disappointments.
They feel as though someone ripped their heart,
And then stomped on it in front of the world.
They are afraid... Actually terrified.
They miss the past.
Their future uncertain,
Will their life ever return to normal?
Do they even remember what normal life was like?
Most of their "friends" have left,
They're afraid more people will leave too,
So they act as normal and pain-free as possible.
They are stuck between two worlds.
Trying to find out where they belong.
They don't want to be pitied.
They just don't want what happened to them,
Happen to you...
It isn't them I am speaking for.
It's me...
