UFO case studies
The Independent Network of UFO Researchers (INUFOR) has put out the call after being contacted by several Quirindi people who reported a close
encounter of the unusual kind on
Sunday, August 22.
INUFOR co-ordinator Moira McGhee said the residents had contacted her with reports of seeing "small, silvery craft in the sky and a white, sticky
substance falling to earth". "This is reminiscent of a similar incident in 1998," she said.
On that occasion, on August 10, 1998, Quirindi residents on the outskirts of town reported watching "about 20 silvery baubles" high in the sky
for about an hour-and-a-half, with a "cobweb-like substance" falling to the ground as the objects manoeuvred around.
At the time, Ms McGhee said the reports of the objects and the associated "angel hair" were similar to other unexplained reports from around the world.
Ms McGhee said in the most recent case they had been unable to explain the substance or the objects and would appreciate hearing from anyone who witnessed
any other similar incidents.
INUFOR can be contacted on 02 4757 3848 after 7pm.

Saw a luminous yellow-green color craft, with external white lights. It was quite large. It was low on the horizon, so low that it wasn't visible at times behind the trees. it travelled fast, but slower than an
airplane, from East to West. I estimated it to be over Interstate Hwy. 10 or a few miles N. of it. I saw it first from my residence for a few seconds, then behind trees, then visible again. I drove to Country Club
Drive and saw the glowing object heading west, becoming smaller and smaller, until the "glow" disappeared. It was shaped like a flattened football, and appeared quite large.
In early July 1947 an incident occurred in the desert just outside of Roswell, NM. Many people have heard of the Roswell UFO crash, but very few people know the details of the incident. The following account of the
1947 UFO incident was taken from public records, from information provided by the International UFO Museum and from the press release for UFO Encounter 1997.
On the evening of July 3, 1947 Dan Wilmot, a respected business owner, and his wife were sitting on their front porch when they saw a bright saucer shaped object
with glowing lights moving across they sky at 400-500 miles per hour. Dan Wilmot estimated that the unidentified flying object was about 20-25 feet across. The flying object appeared from the Southeast and
disappeared to the Northwest. Dan Wilmot reported his unusual sighting to the Roswell Daily Record.
In early July W.W. (Mac) Brazel, the Foreman of the J. B. Foster Ranch rode out to check his sheep after a night of intense thunderstorms. Mac Brazel discovered a large amount of unusual debris scattered across
one of the ranch's pastures. Mac Brazel took some pieces of the debris, showed them to some friends and neighbors and eventually contacted Chaves County Sheriff George Wilcox. Suspecting that the materials described
by Mac Brazel might be connected with military operations, Sheriff Wilcox notified authorities at the Roswell Army Air Field (subsequently renamed Walker AFB) for assistance in the matter......

Belgium UFO Sightings
Among some of the better documented and investigatable cases that have occurred in the last decade is the rash of UFO sightings which took place over Belgium.
Some very poignant factors make this case history extremely rare, with regards to how these cases usually run. Foremost of these determinants is the highly
uncommon action of the Belgian government and Air Force, in being very open with their own verifications of the sightings with the public at large. This is
the first time that such a sharing of apparently unfiltered military data has been, not only provided, but given over in an earnest attempt to invite public
investigation. Beginning in late 1989, a definite UFO "flap" converged on Belgium, with the majority of the sightings occurring in the vicinity of Wallonia.
For some time from that point on, literally thousands of people reported seeing triangular aircraft in the Belgian skies, exhibiting flight characteristics
which simply cannot be explained, with regard to mundane terrestrial aircraft. Unlike previous flaps, these accounts generated report after report of what,
in essence, was exactly the same type of craft. The eyewitness descriptions have been surprisingly similar in the vast majority of these reports. A surprising
number of these civilian sightings were confirmed by individuals in the Belgian Air Force, police officers, and air traffic controllers.
