The Greek Gods And Goddesses
This page includes the Olympians, Chthonians , Titans and other free spirit Gods and Goddesses. It is by no means a definitive list, but hopefully may inspire you to look futher.
The Olympians.
APHRODITE (venus) : Goddess of love and beauty.
APOLLO : God of arts (especially music and poetry) archery and divination.
ARES (mars) : God of war.
ARTEMIS (diana) : Goddess of the hunt and protector of children.
ATHENA (minerva) : Goddess of wisdom , war, crafts and patron of Athens.
DEMETER ( ceres) : Goddess of agriculture and fertility, mother of persephone.
DIONYSUS ( bacchus) God of wine, mystery and the theatre.
HEPHAISTOS (vulcan) : God of smiths and metal workers.
HERA (juno) : Goddess of marriage, consort of Zeus.
HERMES ( mercury) : God of merchants, messenger of Zeus.
POSEIDON (neptune) : God of the sea and earthquakes.
ZEUS : God of the sky and ruler of Olympus.
The Chthonians.
These are the Gods and Goddesses of the underworld and the earth. They inhabited the opposite realm to the Olympians and therefore acquired a slightly more dark and shadowy aspect.
ERINYES (the furies) Also known as the goddesses of the night, females spirits who exacted revenge. They pursued wrongdoers until they were driven mad and died.
HADES (pluto) : God of the underworld and ruler of the dead.
HEKATE (trivia/hecate) Goddess of magic.
PERSEPHONE (prosperina) : Wife of Hades, Goddess of the underworld, also known as Kore (the maiden)
THANATOS : God of death.
The Titans.
A race of Gods who were the parents and precursors of the Olympians. They were defeated by the younger generation of deities, lead by Zeus.
ATLAS : He lead the struggle between the Titans and the Olympians, and for this he was punished .....
EPIMETHEUS : Brother of Prometheus, his name means afterthought.
GAIA (tellus) Earth Goddess and mother of the Titans.
HYPERION : God who was father of Helios, Eos and Selene.
LAPETOS : Father of Atlas, Prmetheus and Epimetheus.
KOIOS : God who mated with Phoebe and together they produced Leto and Asteria.
KREIOS : God who sired Astraios, Pallas and Perseus.
KRONOS (cronus) Son of Gaia and Ouranos, he castrated his father, and was in turn the sire of many of the Olympians.
LETO: Goddess who bore the Olympians Artemis and Apollo to Zeus.
MNEMOSYNE : Literally means memory. She and Zeus together produced the Muses.
OKEANOS ( oceanus) God of the sea and water.
OURANOS (uranus) Son and consort of Gaia> Father of the Titans.
PROMETHEUS : his name means forethought, he was punished for giving fire to humans, and was bound , and daily an eagle would devour his liver.
RHEIA (rhea) Mother Goddess who bore Hestia,Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus to Kronos.
THETHYS : Gave birth to daughters who personified rivers.
THEMIS : this Goddess was the second wife of Zeus, and she conceived the seasons, lawfulness, justice, peace and the Fates.

BOREAS : God of the north wind
DIKE ( lustitia) Goddess of justice
EILEITHYIA : Goddess of childbirth
EIRENE (pax) : Goddess who personified peace
EOS (aurora) : Goddess of the dawn
EREBUS : Personification of darkness
ERIS (discordia) : Goddess of discord and strife.
EROS (cupid) : God of love and desire.
ECHOMIA : Goddess who personified discipline or good government
FATES :The three daughters of the Goddess of necessity, Themis. Life was woven by Clothos, measured by Lachesis, and the thread of life cut by Atropos
GRACES : Trio of graceful Goddesses associated with Aphrodite.
HEBE : Cup bearing Goddess of the Olympians
HELIOS ( sol) God of the sun
HESPERUS (vesper) : God of the evening
HESTIA (vesta) : Goddess of the home and the hearth
HIMEROS : God of sexual desire , companion of Aphrodite.
HORAE : A trio of Goddesses of the seasons
HYGEIA : Goddess of health
HYPNOS (somnus) God of sleep
ISIS : Goddess of the rainbow and messenger of Hera
MORPHEUS : God of dreams

PEITHO : Goddess who personifies persuasion
SELENE (luna) Goddess of the moon
TRITON : Water God
