Women For Sobriety, Inc. is dedicated to helping women overcome alcoholism and other addictions. Our
"New Life" program supports women in achieving sobriety and sustaining ongoing recovery.
WFS is unique in that it is an organization OF women FOR women.Membership in WFS requires a desire to stop drinking and a sincere desire for a "New Life."
We wish to emphasize that the Women for Sobriety "New Life" Program is not affiliated with AA, LifeRing, SOS, SMART Recovery, Moderation Management, or Rational Recovery. Each of these support programs have their own online sites to explore.
We are well aware that WFS group meetings are not as readily available to the recovering community as some of the other support programs listed above, and we fully recognize there are members who affiliate themselves with more than one program to compensate for this.
If a member of this forum is utilizing more than one program's philosophy or its meetings for support, those programs need to be discussed on their individual sites and not on the WFS Forum.
Discussion or comparison of differences between WFS and other support programs is not appropriate on the WFS forum. If you are seeking information or have questions regarding support groups other than Women for Sobriety, please search online or directly contact those groups within your community.
If additional support assistance is needed beyond the scope of the WFS online forum and there are no WFS group meetings near you, we sincerely hope you will seek out additional support resources online or in your community.
