Women who Bleed
I warmly welcome you to this group.
I am a 30something female from the UK with von Willebrands disease - type 3 and felt there was room for a support group/online community for women with bleeding disorders (eg von Willebrands, Haemophilia, Glanzmans, Bernard Soulier, Factor x, Factor V111 etc). I have particularly been trying to find out information about women with bleeding disorders and how they cope and are managed. I have searched the net for more information & support on the subjects of pregnancy, childbirth & menstruation & more.
This group isn’t exclusive to women, but I did feel women needed to be given the space to talk about some of the more taboo subjects and the acknowledgement that not only men have bleeding disorders.
I also hope that friends, family, carers, healthcare professionals, researchers or indeed anyone with an interest in bleeding disorders will join.
My hope is that here we will find friendship, information, experience sharing and a sense of sisterhood.
