Welcome to the World Wide Mazda MX-5 10th Anniversary Owners Club Update as at 19 Jan 2005 Happy New Year everyone, I hope the festive season was apleasant one. I have received an email from a member asking about the influx of what can only be described as SPAM. Having had a quick look I can only agree that this type of message has nothing to do with this Group whatsoever and should be stopped. Now, as the manager I suppose the duty of stopping this kind of rubbish is down to me. Sadly I simply do not have the time to devote to this anymore. Having now started my classic car restoration business, I spend most of the time doing my accounts or updating my web site, or even resting my poor shreaded hands. I think the only realistic approach to this is for me to "promote" a couple of the "senior" members of this Group in order for them to manage the Group site more effectively than I can at the moment. I have asked for help before, but have had little response. I think that anybody posting SPAM or any other soliciting messages should be banned. I will start a message on the message board on the matter, and of that of promotion of a couiple of members....Please check it out. I wish to remain the manager of this Group as i did start it, and I hope to have more input in the future (when I employ people to do my accounts and Web site ) . On a nother note, I dented my off side front wing on new years eve. I was sitting on my mates wall just infront of where the 10AE was parked, and yup, so tipsy was I, I fell backwards and banged my poor head on the wing. Luckily, I have the tools to try and "suck" it out....... Anyway, I hope 2005 is prosperous for all, keep up the support, and above all enjoy...... P.S. Don't forget to chek out the message board and please lets discuss the problem and what I feel to be a good solution. Yours, KJ (sorry if the spelling is poor) UPDATE (As at 14 August 2003) Ok, so where was I. Yeah - I was away, again! Now I'm back in the UK for good (I think) I should be able to get the proper site up and running. I'm still looking for a helping hand with this community site, and I will start with building the proper web site soonest. I should have the time. I'm quitting my current career to seek my fame and fortune else where. I may look at restoring classic cars, well Triumphs (Spitfires, GT6, TR 2-6 and Stags) to be exact. Something I've always wanted to do, and so I thought "sod it" let's go and do it. That does mean I should have more time on my hands to finally get this little project off the drawing board. I hope you are all well and have enjoyed the summer, we in the UK have had a smashing one and I'm sure many 10AEs have accumulated a monster amount of miles between them. I hope to email you all soon with the details of the new site, and please please please give me a hand if you can - ANYTHING! UPDATE (As at 21 July 2002) Right, the time has come to ask for help with this. You will all have noticed that this site hasn't gone far recently, this is because my life style isn't allowing me to spend as much time as I would like. So, I am looking for a couple of keen people to take this on. I will add you as assistant managers to help with this venture. So, if you think you are what this site needs, please feel free to email me at keezamong@hotmail.com . I am still interested in putting together a full owner's register, but my skills are not that good (yet). And The proper site? Well, I still have the rights to "10th Anniversary.org", I think, and I'm happy to keep that. But I do need help with the back bone, i.e. the code to enable owners to add themselves to the register, search for other local owners etc. So, if you are the person to help with this, then please make yourslef known...cheers. WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR? Photos, articles, stories, ideas, artwork, ANYTHING related to owning, driving, keeping a tenth anniversary MX-5 (Eunos or Miata) See the original Opening Page which includes the aims etc of the club. Nothing is going to happen over night! This will be a very long affair. I have about 5 members on my books so far, only 7,495 to go! Please pass the word…….. Any comments or suggestions by owners or otherwise, please feel free to post them on this community or e-mail me at Kezzamong@hotmail.com Kerry James |
