Now on to some misc. stuff...

Yes, Moira McTaggart is in, mid-second act, and yes, we see Xavier at
<st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Muir</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>Island</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>. There's a rather substantial portion of the movie dedicated to his backstory, including his first contacts with Jean, Scott, Beast and Storm. BTW, the origin scenes in this movie are Storm's, Angel's and Jean's.

On the subject of Omega Red:

He confronts Wolverine in the woods like was previously reported on Xmenfilms.net, and calls him "Logan". Wolvie asks "Do I know you?", and Omega replies "You will when they carve my name on your tombstone", and they proceed to fight. Wolverine goes into animal rage and eventually impales Omega Red through a tree branch (not graphically depicted). He then leaves to join the others. Later, we see Omega still twitching and his eyes open...

But at the end of the movie when the X-Men confront
<st1:City><st1:place>Phoenix</st1:place></st1:City>, she goes into Wolvie's mind as well and gives him some tantalizing clues about his origins. She basically repeats Stryker's speech from X2 about him being an animal, and he is later intrigued about the exact meaning of this comment.

There is a short paragraph in the script, in brackets, that appears to be pending a studio decision, i.e., the writer has the option of either letting Wolverine stay with the X-Men or have him go off in search of his roots, hence leading to the spin-off movie.

On Juggernaut:

He's described as gargantuan, almost Hulk-size, and his muscle proportions are supposed to be huge. He has the first fight scene against Colossus, then against the X-Men (great piece of teamwork here), some fisticuffs in the prison break, then later on he fights the Sentinels alongside the Brotherhood.

On Iceman:

He sort of does ice up... In the script, it says that when he uses his powers to the extreme (like when he fights Pyro, who is technically "stronger"), his skin covers itself up in a protective sheen of frost. Not real ice, but it should look real cool.

On Storm and Wolverine:

No such thing as a relationship ever occurs. They do grow closer after Jean's death but it's a comraderie thing only, since it's made pretty clear that
<st1:City><st1:place>Logan</st1:place></st1:City> still has feelings for Jean.

On Rogue:

She absorbs other people's powers, yes. Nothing to the DBZ-esque amount seen in fan scripts, though. She never becomes an "uber mutant" with the powers of every single character...

On Mystique:

She comes back. At the end. That's all I'm saying. But she *is* killed by the President's right-hand man, who is a kindred spirit of Stryker's and manages to persuade the Pres to do whatever he says... BTW, Project Apocalypse is the name of the Sentinel plan... But neither the President nor the public ever learn of this. Mystique comes back as a mutant. She is restored to her "rightful state"... And we see her alongside Magneto in the funeral scene at the end.

The movie ends...

With Xavier's funeral scene, where Storm gives an eulogy, then it's the turn of Cykes, Jean and Beast (his first students). Magneto is there, watching from afar. He has become convinced of human irrationality after watching the Sentinels in action, and has sworn to employ his Brotherhood to destroy the Sentinel factories and continue fighting for mutant supremacy. There's a cool montage at the end showcasing all of the X-Men as they gaze at Xavier's grave... Then fade to black with "The End" over a silver X.

At least that's what's on the script.

Miscellaneous points:

Gambit IS in! He has a cameo in the prison break and later joins in against the Sentinels. He also has a rather brief rapport with Rogue, but this seems more of a reference to the comics/fan pleaser than anything serious.

Expect a cameo by Emma Frost, twice throughout the film and then at Xavier's funeral.

The Phoenix is not Jean's dark side, but rather a dishevelled side of her psyche that emerges after the traumatic experience of "death" having broken through those seals Xavier planted in her mind (AICN scoop was dead on, here, as we see Jean being recruited by Xavier in her early years and she does make the cars float down the street; BTW, the fight scene being filmed on that street was from the mind battle with Xavier). Remember the BTVS episode "Earshot", how Buffy felt so confused about listening to everyone's thoughts? That's sorta how
<st1:City><st1:place>Phoenix</st1:place></st1:City> works, she can't get the "noise" to stop so her best bet is just make everyone go kaboom...

This is pretty much it. I may have left out a few points as I received way too much info than I can process (and it was in the last seven hours), but if you have any questions, feel free to pose them and I'm sure they'll help me remember more of what I was told.

I just wanted to share this with those of you willing to read spoilers, and I am not asking to outright believe me, but come July 2006 I shall be proved right (in case any of you want to flame me).

Peace.

Now for the prison break scene...

Magneto heads to
<st1:City><st1:place>San Francisco</st1:place></st1:City>, where Juggs and the other captured Brotherhood members are being held in an island prison (codenamed Genosha) by de-powering devices. Juggs is incredibly frustrated by his captivity, until the devices start exploding one by one, and then Magneto makes a grand triumphal entrance (think his entrance in X-Men 2 game for Genesis) and starts effortlessly taking apart the guards! The other mutants break free and join the fun (expect cameos by Marrow, Blob and a few others here). Eventually they escape, ripping the <st1:place>Golden Gate</st1:place> bridge to shreds in the process. Magneto is nearly rabid with fury against the humans by now...

Then there's the virus plant, which Beast, Iceman and Kitty break into. Dr. Rao is in this sequence. She helped the "mystery man" produce the virus but she thought it was an honest-to-god cure, not a genocidal device... Beast believes her.

This is about two thirds into the movie:

The President learns of the prison break in Genosha (the island, not the country; this appears to be a reference more than anything) and is persuaded by his "mystery man" counselor to activate Project Apocalypse... ie, the Sentinels. No, they won't be purple and pink, but they won't exactly have the design from the X2 concept art either... Those of you who liked the Sentinels in Evolution will like them here. BTW, one of the subtitles being considered for X3 is Evolution... Anyway, the X-Men are chasing
<st1:City><st1:place>Phoenix</st1:place></st1:City> in the Blackbird (Storm has a "chase" sequence with her) and they end up at the virus plant after letting Jean evade them. There's a major action sequence at this point, sort of a three-way titanic battle between the X-Men, the Brotherhood and the Sentinels, and then it goes mutants vs. Sentinels (remember the scoop on AICN that mentioned mutants lining up to be "cured" of their mutations? it's still in, but those mutants also join in the climactic fight, a.k.a. cameo heaven!)... That is, until <st1:City><st1:place>Phoenix</st1:place></st1:City> arrives and disposes of the Sentinels completely. After that, it's Xavier versus Jean in a psychic battle and Cykes (no, he DOES NOT die!) manages to calm her down... But not before Xavier is killed!

So that's the major death right there.

What happens there is...

Mystique is captured and used by the military faction (major hint: there are three letters to their name...) as a guinea pig for the "Cure"... which is actually the Legacy Virus in disguise, devised not by Worthington Sr. (he only has a small part in the movie, once in Angel's origin scene at the start, and then later on as Angel faces his father again after he has reached adulthood and become an X-Man; his father had always rejected him for what he was, but there's an awesome exchange where Adult Warren spreads his wings and tells dear ol' dad "This is what I am, Father!" before flying off to help the others) but by a very, very special character whose name I shall not reveal here... And X3 doesn't either until the very end. I think you all know who I mean by now. Anyway, Mystique first demutates, then dies as a consequence of the virus... And Magneto is devastated. He actually takes her to the mansion after she is unmasked in D.C. (in front of Beast and the President, who is less lenient about mutants than his predecessor McKenna) so that Beast can take a look at her. This scene is very similar to Senator Kelly's death(?) in X1, plus a few jokes about blue skin/fur.

When Mystique dies, Magneto (who has been debating his and Xavier's dreams, very cool dialogues here; this is *after* the
<st1:City><st1:place>Phoenix</st1:place></st1:City> has risen) is enraged, asks for the X-Men's help, is denied, and leaves to avenge Mystique on his own... The Professor organizes the X-Men into three teams, one of them will track down <st1:City><st1:place>Phoenix</st1:place></st1:City>, another will try to stop Magneto, and the third one will head for the virus production plant to stop the assembly line.

- Primer comentario de "spider_man_2" en los foros de Superherohype:

1ª parte:

I don't expect any of you to believe this, seeing as how I cannot disclose my source (under penalty of legal action against said source by Marvel and Fox), I myself sure as hell wouldn't believe it when a scoop this big practically fell onto my lap... I've been an X-fan for years and this is almost too good to be true, that I was contacted by an insider. But trust me, it's legit, and I'd like to confirm that the latest updates on xmenfilms.net are as well. The mansion fight scene has already been (mostly) filmed, the rest is still on paper only.

Please keep in mind that reading the information contained further down and "sealed" with spoiler tags will spoil this movie for you.

Wait for next year. It'll be worth the wait.

Regarding the scene description from Xmenfilms:

It's pretty much true, except it takes place earlier in the movie than people have been guessing at. The prison break is actually *after* the first meeting with
Phoenix and the mansion battle scenes... I'll explain. After those fight scenes described on Xmenfilms, the Phoenix
"flies" off confused (she streaks into the sky leaving behind a trail of fire) and the X-men receive word that the mansion is under attack, so they head there. Pyro has Iceman in a pinch, but Cykes steps in saying "You need to cool off, John", blows a water main from the mansion rubble with his eye laser and drenches John in water that Iceman proceeds to freeze. Avalanche and Scarlet Witch escape. That leaves Juggernaut, which I gotta say is my favorite X-character... He gains the upper hand versus Colossus and is about to kill him when Kitty intervenes, phasing Colossus away through a wall.

Suddenly, a fog surrounds Juggs and he can't see a thing (Storm)... He gets an eye laser straight to the chest, then Wolverine leaps on his back and slices off the bolts of his helmet (think the 90's TAS) before leaping away. Just as Juggs is b****ing about this, we hear a rumbling voice, and this is oh-so-cool! that shouts "Cain Marko!" and the Professor is in his mind! Juggs struggles for control but the Prof eventually wins. Most of the Brotherhood is captured in this sequence, leading to the prison break later.
