You must a member to post or chat Welcome to Yagudin Is Here. The place about Alexei on and off the ice. The place on the web to get the stuff you want about Alexei, the 2002 Olympic Gold Medalist and 4 time World Champion of the Russian team. Even if you've only scanned a ice skating performance on television, as you flipped through the channels, you're sure to have seen him skate. Ranked one of the most talented male skaters of the millennium, holding his own in the presence of Kurt Browning, Scott Hamilton, and Illia Kulik. Alexei, born and raised in St. Petersburg, has had his feet set firmly on the ice since he was only four years old. Now, after winning the gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics, he is one of the World's most rejoiced skaters. Known for his extraordinarily difficult programs, steadiness and strength upon the ice, well-chosen music and mostly... his presence on ice. He skates with his heart, and he has the head to present it to the world. Alexei has chosen to go professional now, but he's keeping very busy! Between skating in pro tours like Stars On Ice and Champions On Ice, Alexei has been coaching. Two recent students he has worked with are the reigning European champion and World silver medalist Brian Joubert of France, and the World Junior champion Andrei Griazev of Russia. Both students credit Alexei with helping them to improve their art and up the stakes on what they can accomplish on the ice, especially in those signature jumps and footwork we all have come to love from Alexei Yagudin. Alexei has said before that he would "like to try" coaching, and it must be said that he has succeeded in that endeavor as he has in every other in his life. Enjoy.
