Character Creation

I have decided to create a new character creation page in light of the fact that most people either can't understand the current information I have posted on character creation. So, I'll just do a step-by-step page on the creation of your character, as per the character sheet. Yay for you.

Zoid Name: Pick a name for your zoid. It isn't hard.

Pilot Name: Your name. Or your character's name.

Type: What kind of zoid are you piloting? Write that here.

Tonnage: How heavy is your zoid? Check Chart of Zoids in the Game Rules section for reference.

Bond: Put 1 in each of the blanks. The first blank is how much bond you have. The second is how much bond do you have total with this zoid. You can spend bond points in combat, and gain them back at the beginning of every match. When you spend a bond point in combat, you are able to instantly succeed at a piloting roll. This symbolizes your relationship with the zoid and your knowing of its nuances. You start with one bond point, so fill that in as 1.

Movement Points: Check the movement points for your zoid in the Chart of Zoids. Fill that in here. As previously, the first blank is how much movement points you have currently, and how much movement points you have total. If you didn't know, movement points is how far your zoid can go in one turn (three seconds). Each movement point is 25 meters.

Piloting and Marksmanship: Pick one of these and put 1 in one of these. The other has a score of zero. Basically, piloting is how well you control your zoid, and marksmanship is how well you can shoot ranged weapons.
Armament List: This is your list of the weapons equipped on the zoid. If you're using a standard configuration, as provided by the Chart of Zoids then fill in those weapons. If you're using a custom configuration, fill in those weapons. Reading the Customize section in the Core Rules may be helpful if you're using a customized zoid. For the Location, write in where exactly the weapon is mounted. For the damage, check either the damage raiting on the Chart of Zoids or the Weapons Table in the Game Rules section. For the weapon ranges, check the Weapons Table. Amt., or Amount is the amount of weapons you have of that type in that location. For example, if you have 4 20mm cannon arrays on each arm (8 cannons total), you'd write in that you have 20mm cannon, amt. 4 in the right arm, and 20mm cannon, amt. 4 in the left arm. Thus, you'd fill in two lines of your armaments.
Hit Points: These are hit point listings for each body part. As you can see, there are two hit point listings. One is your Armor Hit Points, and the second is your Structural Hit points. Armor, is basically the armor plating on your zoid. Structural is your zoid's internal structure, frame and chassis. To get your armor hit points, just take the armor amount your zoid has from the Chart of Zoids and put an amount of that armor in each of the body parts. You can't have more armor than that total given in the Chart of Zoids (unless you customize it to add more armor. See the Customize section of the Core Rules for more information). For your structural hit points, check the Tonnage Chart in the Game Rules section. The tonnage chart lists structural hit points for various body parts up to a tonnage of 100 tons. There are several zoids that exceed 100 tons, but the Tonnage Chart tells how to find structural hit points for tonnages higher than 100 tons. If your zoid's tonnage is between two tonnages listed on the chart, round up.
Shields: If your zoid is equipped with some sort of shielding system, then write in the damage your shield can absorb. Various shields are listed in the Weapons Table.
Energy: Your energy is in a percentile. If you have a standard zoid core, your energy is 100%. If you have a modified zoid core, write what your percentage is instead. Check the Weapons Table for various core modifications to gain more energy.
Criticals: Criticals are the various working parts and weapons equipped on a zoid. If your structure gets damaged, various working parts of the zoid may cease to function. The Criticals area catalogues various working parts in each area of the body. Write in your weapons here. For example, if I have a 140mm cannon on my zoid's Right Torso which takes up 5 critical spaces, I would write in on my Right Torso area:

140mm Cannon
140mm Cannon
140mm Cannon
140mm Cannon
140mm Cannon

If you have a single center-mounted torso weapon, and not enough crits for it in the center torso, yet you KNOW your zoid has this weapon, for example the 30mm Gatling Laser on the shadow fox, write half the critical spaces in the Left torso, and half in the Right Torso.

Also, for tail-mounted weapons, write these on your left and right torso, but taking up half the criticals, rounded down. For example, the Gun Sniper has a 144mm sniper rifle in it's tail. Therefore, I would write "144mm Sniper Rifle" once in the left torso critical area, and once in the right torso critical area.
Special Equipment: This is where you write your zoid's non combat special equipment, the things that dont take up critical spaces. For example, if you had an Artificial Intelligence, you'd write it here. If you had a Targeting Computer, you'd write it here. You can find more objects to add here if you check through the Weapons Table.
Backgrounds: A most important part that many players dont put in. I figure this is probably because they dont even read the rules, or dont understand them. You have 5 background points that you can put in any backgrounds of your choice. The list of backgrounds can be found in both the Core Rules and the Character Creation area. You can't even find out what zoid you have if you dont have the backgrounds filled in. Also, if you don't know, there are three ways to get a better zoid (if you dont choose any of these methods, you start out with a low-priced zoid of your choice). The first is just to get a rating in zoid. This background determines what zoid you have by ownership. The Zoid background is also the only way to get an Organoid or the Organoid System (which is in Ultimate X zoids). The second way is by having a high resources score and simply buying your starting zoid. This is restricted in the way that you can't purchase zoids that have a Contacts restriction unless you also posess the level of contacts to aquire it. The final way to get a zoid is to have a Contacts background and get it via your friends in high places on a loan. This means you have to pay off your zoid's loan at a later date.
Battles, With Zoid: This is the record of how many battles you've fought total, and how many you've fought with your zoid. Because you gain 1 additional point of bond every 8 battles you fight with your zoid, and you gain 1 additional point in either piloting or marksmanship for every 8 battles you're in.
