Qigong is an integrated mind-body healing method that has been practiced with remarkable results in China for thousands of years. The Chinese have long treasured qigong for its effectiveness both in healing and in preventing disease and more recently they have used it in conjunction with modern medicine to treat cancer, immune system disorders and other health conditions.

More than a thousand type of qigong exercises evolved over the millenium in China. Only a handful has received recognition for its health benefit.  Zhineng Qigong is the first among the qigong styles to be credited by the China Sports Bureau  as an effective health maintenance methodology.

Zhineng Qigong is the invention of Pang Ming, a qigong grandmaster trained in Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  He injected his profound medical knowledge of the old and new healing sciences into the ancient qigong practice and repackaged it for the present pragmatic world.  In 1980, he declared the birth of Zhineng Qigong.

Pang Ming Laoshi or Teacher Pang Ming was born in 1940 in Dingxing County, Hebei Province. After graduating from the Beijing Medical School, he practised medicine into the 1970s. He presented several papers at national and international convention on qigong.

In 1988, he founded the world's largest medicineless hospital known as Huaxia Zhineng Qigong Training and Recovery Centre located in Hebei Province.
