Why a Support Group for Adoptees?

Being an adoptee is a life long process. Often adoptees feel different than their peers. Even growing up in the best of adoptive homes, an adoptee can feel a void.

Life experiences such as leaving home, marriage, birth of a child, or the death of an adoptive parent can bring these emotions to the surface.

Finding a professional skilled in adoption issues isn’t easy. Most therapists and counselors learn about adoption issues due to personal interest. The actual subject of adoption is rarely broached in the courses that are covered in most Universities.

Often adoptees reach out for help only to be told their issues aren’t really related to being adopted. This group is an alternative. A safe place where you can talk openly with those who have walked the walk.

Our paths are never the same, but the experiences along the journey are often very familiar….
