 Sydney Bristow is not a coed like the others... she is an agent of a secret branch of the C.I.A, SD-6, which recruited her in her first year at the university. Sydney learned martial arts, foreign languages and the most pointed techniques in order to become a spy. She discovers the truth about SD-6 when she tells her Fiancee, Danny about what she does for a living. The head of SD-6 a man called 'Arvin Sloane' had Danny murdered and also ordered Sydney to be elimated.Jack Bristow, Sydney's father tells her that he works for SD-6 and that this secret branch for which they work for is nothing to do with C.I.A., but a branch of Alliance: a terrorist network. Being able more to trust nobody and wishing to avenge Danny's death, she turns to the true C.I.A. and offers her services as a double agent. Placed under the authority of the agent Michael Vaughn and his partner Eric Weiss, she continues her missions for the SD-6 while reporting everything with the C.I.A. She has to keep her life and double life a secret from her co-workers at SD-6 Marshall Flinkman and Marcus Dixon, who have no idea about SD-6 and her best friends Will Tippin and Francie Calfo.
Sydney discovers that her father is also a double agent...she also finds out that her mother, Laura Bristow, who is thought too of died 30 years ago is in fact alive and a former member of the Russian Intelligence group 'The KGB'. Sydney encounters her mother whose real name is 'Irina Deverko' who eventually turns herself over to the CIA.
Sydney discovers that her Dad headed a scheme called 'Project Christmas' which trained young children as agents. He tested this project on Sydney and this strains their relationship.
After a year and a half Sydney is able to find a way to destroy SD-6 and all of othee SD cells and Alliance Facilites and is free to pursue her romantic interest in her CIA handler, Michael Vaughn. Unbeknown to anyone, Sydney's best friend, Francie has been murdered by her evil double who has been cloned to look like Francie through a unique process. This double (aka Allison Doren) becomes Francie and lives her life whilst spying on Sydney.
Will is suspected of being the double by the CIA but is cleared. He finds out who the double is and phones Syd before getting knocked out. Syd receives the phone messages and ends up fighting evil Francie, before ultimaley shooting her and collapsing.
She wakes up in a dingy back alley in Tokoyo and finds out from Vaughn that she has been missing, thought dead for two years and that he has got married. Marshall is in a relationship with NSA worker Carrie Bowman and she is pregnant with his child (they later get married). Dixon has been promoted to head of the CIA division and her father is in jail (Sydney later frees him).
Vaughn's wife, Lauren Reed ends up coming to work for the KGB and Sydney has to fight her romantic feelings for Vaughn. She discovers what has happened to her during her missing two years. She has been living as 'Julia Thorne' a Convenant Hit Woman. The Convenant, a terrorist organisation tried to brainwash Syd into believing she is Julia though 'failsafes' put in by Jack Bristow during 'Project Christmas' enabled her not to become brainwashed and therefore became a double agent for Agent Kendall, former head of the CIA, whom she secretly contacted.
It turns out that Lauren is in fact a double agent for The Convenant, working alongside Julian Sark. She tortures Vaughn for information on 'The Passenger' who is prophecised by Rambaldi. The Passenger turns out to be the half sister of Sydney (a love child of Irina and Sloane) who is called Nadia Santos. Sydney rescues Nadia from Sloane who tries to experiment on her to find the location of Rambaldi. Vaughn kills Lauren after a fight.
Sydney, Vaughn, Marshall, Jack and Dixon all quit/are sacked for the CIA and go to work for a black ops division called APO (Authorised Personnal Only), headed by Arvin Sloane. They are later joined by Nadia and Weiss. Sydney and Vaughn pick up their romance pre Lauren. Jack reveals to Sydney that he shot and killed Irina because she planned to kill her but it is revealed that he shot Irina's double and the real Irina is being held captive by her evil sister Elena, who posed as the head of Nadia's orphanage to mulipuate her. Jack, Sydney, Vaughn and Nadia rescue the real Irina and Vaughn Proposes to Sydney. However Irina warns Vaughn to 'tell Sydney the truth' and he reveals to Sydney that his name is not Michael Vaughn and it was no coninscidence that he met her when she first joined the real CIA.... |
