SNAP & FILLILL
Supplies you should have before you begin: Paper towel, latex gloves because ink can and does make a mess plan for this before you begin filling cartridges. You may want to fill them initially in a sink as you gain experience using the Snap & Fill.
1. A freshly emptied cartridge works best. If the cartridge has been out of the printer awhile, you may need to unclog the dried ink from the nozzles before the cartridge will accept the full amount of ink. Do this by heating about 1/4 inch of water in the microwave for about 1 minute, then put the print head of the cartridge in it. You may have to repeat this step until you get the printhead clean. Remember only daub the printhead on the paper towel do not wipe over the print head. Snap the cartridge into the filling device. Make sure the cartridge is centered in the device by feeling both sides.
2. Using the syringe ink tip provided draw 30cc of ink from the bottle into the syringe.
3. You may want to do this procedure over a sink the first few times just in case it makes a mess. The process is actually pretty clean, but let your confidence build. Push the end of the syringe onto the plastic tube. Hold the cartridge and syringe as shown and slowly inject the ink, taking about 5 seconds to completely empty syringe.
4. This last step is important. In order to keep the ink from leaking, a little vacuum is needed inside the cartridge. On top of the cartridge there is an arrow with a small hole in the middle, blow air into this hole. (This will force ink out the printhead. So you may want to do this step over a paper towel.) Allow the cartridge to sit for a while, this will ensure the cartridge is not leaking.
5. The cartridge is now ready to be used.
