Bianca took a job at Enchantment and was intrigued by another new employee, foreign beauty Lena Kundera. Lena appeared to have an interest in Bianca as well, but Enchantment's chemist, Boyd Larraby, argued that Lena was interested in him. Boyd and Bianca made a bet over Lena's sexual orientation, and the loser had to buy dinner for the winner. Lena liked keeping things ambiguous, however, because she was in cahoots with troublesome Michael Cambias, a corporate raider who'd recently gotten involved with Bianca's sister Kendall. Lena and Michael were in bed together in every sense of the word. But Lena may have feelings for Bianca afterall.
Once Bianca found out that Lena had been lying to her and used her position as Erica's daughter to break into Erica's safe, Bianca broke up with Lena. She plotted along with Erica and Kendall to take down Michael-and by default-Lena. However, Bianca realized that she did truly care for Lena, and with the help of her friends, decided to give their relationship another chance (Lena had been cleared of charges in exchange for turning evidence against Michael).
Just as Bianca began letting her guard down, Michael set Lena up, making it look like Lena was once again using sex with men to get herself ahead in the world. Bianca broke up with Lena and vowed to never wear her heart on her sleeve and be hurt again. When it was discovered that Lena was telling the truth, the two reconciled.
Unfortunately Michael Cambias, having unsuccessfully tried to assault Kendall and Erica, raped Bianca in a cruel attack against her mother and sister on July 9th, 2003. During a storm, Bianca burned her clothes and shut down as a result of the rape. She immediately closed Lena out of her life.
Erica, who was immersed in planning her wedding to Jackson and keeping Greenlee's mother, Mary Smythe at bay, believed Bianca when she said that she was just upset because she and Lena had broken up. David noticed that Bianca was troubled and even found her near the edge of the clinic rooftop. While drunk, Bianca let it slip to Maggie that she was raped.
Bianca pressed charges against Michael, but after a pre-trial hearing, he was freed due to lack of physical evidence. Bianca learned that she was pregnant and struggled with whether she should terminate the pregnancy. After keeping it secret from Erica for fear of her reaction (Erica had gotten pregnant as a result of rape), she told her mother the truth.
Erica urged Bianca to terminate her pregnancy and Bianca seemingly agreed. However, after a last minute conversation in which her sister Kendall (a child of rape) urged her to "do whatever she needed to," Bianca decided to keep her child. Bianca kept this secret from Erica, for fear of the psychological effects it would have on her mother.
Despite Kendall's claim that she had married Michael shortly after Bianca's pre-trial hearing, the two sisters grew closer. Michael's dead body surfaced, and Bianca stood by her sister, who was under suspicion from the police. Kendall learned of Bianca's pregnancy and vowed to keep her secret.
When Ryan Lavery almost discovered the truth about Bianca's pregnancy via a sonogram of her unborn child (and in doing so, would reveal the truth of Bianca's baby as the true Cambias heir), Kendall covered and claimed that the sonogram belonged to her. In an effort to protect her sister and unborn child, Kendall went public with the claim that she was carrying Michael's child. With the help of David Hayward, Bianca donated her blood in order for Kendall to prove that she was pregnant.
Bianca relied on Maggie's strength during her pregnancy. Bianca also confided in Lena about her pregnancy, and the two grew closer, although Lena respected Bianca's need for space after recent traumatic events. Unbeknownst to Bianca, Maggie began to develop deeper feelings for her friend, prodded by jealousy at seeing Lena and Bianca's closeness. Maggie even kissed Bianca, but managed to convince Bianca it was just friendly.
When Kendall's fake pregnancy was revealed thanks to Greenlee, Bianca came forward to Erica and admitted that she was still pregnant. Erica, shocked and feeling betrayed, shut down. Bianca began having flashes of the night that Michael was killed and started to believe that she witnessed her mother kill Michael.
However, just as it looked as if Erica would confess to the murder to protect an increasingly guilty Kendall, Bianca realized that she had killed Michael and had blocked the memory out. Bianca confessed her crime and no charges were brought against her (she shot Michael in self-defense).
Erica remained emotionally shut down after learning of Bianca's pregnancy, but after being accosted by a reporter, told Bianca that to bring a child of rape into the world would only result in pain for mother and daughter. Hurt off Erica's words, Bianca and her friend Babe Chandler went for a drive, only to be stranded in a secluded cabin following a flash flood.
Bianca went into labor and Babe helped deliver a baby girl, who Bianca named Miranda. Soon after, Bianca passed out due to post-labor complications. Babe, who had begun labor herself, managed to get a hold of her ex-lover Paul Cramer, and he delivered Babe's child, a boy. Bianca remained unconscious through it all.
Paul, in a scheme to get his sister Kelly Buchanan (of Llanview, Pennsylvania) a baby, drugged Babe and gave her boy to Kelly. He then faked a helicopter crash, prepared to tell the world that Babe's child was killed. However, Babe's husband, JR, and father-in-law Adam came upon the staged crash and threatened Paul if he didn't produce Babe's child. Panicked, Paul told them that Miranda was the child Babe had given birth to. Babe, who had a fuzzy memory of the event thanks to a drugging by Paul and a post-labor infection, believed Paul's version of events as a truth. JR named his newfound daughter Bess.
Bianca regained consciousness and learned that Miranda had died. Devastated, Bianca verbally attacked Erica, claiming that Erica got her wish -- Miranda, the child of rape, was gone. Despite Erica's attempts to console Bianca, Bianca told her mother she never wanted to see her again.
Lena was Bianca's rock as Bianca grieved for her baby. Once Lena learned that her mother was ill, however, Lena wanted to abide by her mother's wish to return to Poland, and Lena promised to accompany her mother. Lena promised to love Bianca forever, and swore she'd return one day to resume their plans for a life together.
Krystal, Babe's mother, started to suspect that Paul Cramer lied and that Babe's child actually died. Tad Martin, whom Krystal was dating, had a similar suspicion and conducted a DNA test in secret on Bianca, Babe and Bess. Krystal secretly switched the DNA test results. When the results proved Babe and Bess were mother and daughter, only Krystal knew that Bess was actually Bianca's daughter, and Babe's child had died. After weeks of trying to keep the secret, Babe finally learned the truth.
Babe wanted to tell Bianca, but saw how much her husband loved Bess. The thought of taking Bess away from him, and telling him that their child had died, ripped Babe's heart in two. She loved JR. But Bianca was her best friend. Babe made the most difficult choice of her life -- she chose her husband's happiness over Bianca's.
What Babe didn't realize was that JR was secretly plotting against her. He had realized that Babe's marriage to Paul Cramer had never been annulled and Babe knowingly lied about it. JR swore to get Babe out of his life and keep Bess for himself. JR drugged Babe in an attempt to get her to sleep with his brother Jamie. It didn't succeed and Babe almost died. Eventually, Babe discovered JR's sins and realized he hated her. A guilt ridden Babe prepared to tell Bianca the truth about her daughter. Once again, fate intervened.
Babe ran into Kevin Buchanan and his son, Ace. Feeling a maternal draw to the child, Babe soon learned of Paul's connection to the baby and the mysterious circumstances of Ace's birth. Babe was convinced the baby was hers and soon got DNA test results that proved it. However, Babe couldn't come forward and reclaim him, because to do so would imply that she knew she had Bianca's child, and JR would use that information to gain sole custody. Babe knew that a child raised by the Chandlers would become emotionally corrupted, just as JR had been. Babe struggled with a way to tell Bianca the truth while protecting her own son's future.
Babe confessed everything to Jamie. Jamie suggested that they let Bianca know the truth and kidnap Ace from the Buchanans. Babe left notes for JR and Bianca explaining that Bess was Miranda, but omitting the part about JR's son being alive. Babe and Jamie then kidnapped Ace (who they renamed James) and went on the run. Feelings between the two deepened as they outran the authorities. Jamie swore to Babe that he would be a father to James, and protect mother and son from any harm.
JR burned Bianca's note, and she remained ignorant to the truth. Realizing that Bianca had not learned the full story, Babe made arrangements for Bianca to meet her in Florida, where she would tell Bianca face to face. There, Babe finally told Bianca that Bess was Miranda. She revealed how Paul Cramer had switched the babies, and she had kidnapped her son from Llanview. Furious, Bianca slapped Babe and ordered her out of her sight. Bianca planned to take Miranda and leave, but JR intervened and after a verbal spat, Bianca accidentally tripped and fell off a balcony. She slipped into unconsciousness.
Tad (who had learned everything after Krystal confessed, leading Tad to dump her) told Erica that Miranda was alive. Armed with the truth, Erica was determined to reunite Bianca with her daughter.
