POSTING AND READING BY EMAIL

While this works very well with other sites  that are only a single message board and little else (for example, Yahoo and Google), we do not recommend that you use this option at MSN.  We have more than one board, and it can be confusing.  We also have many pages of other information that you will miss if you don't come directly to our group.    

NO SPOILERS ON THE GENERAL MESSAGE BOARD

A spoiler is anything that has not happened yet on the show.  This includes cast changes ("comings and goings") and even previews.

Some of our members like being surprised about the future of AMC. If you want to discuss something that hasn't happened yet, please use The Spoiler Room, a message board devoted to discussing spoilers.

People can get confused and add their own speculations to  spoiler material and post it on the General Board. Everyone loves to speculate, but be sure you are not using something you KNOW is going to happen.  It will be considered a spoiler and deleted.

If you are not sure it is a spoiler, and you want to post it, white it out.  This way people can choose whether or not to read it.  You can learn how to do this here.

DON'T POST IN ALL CAPITALS!

Posting in all capital letters makes your message harder to read!  Also, you can be interpreted to be shouting.  Remember, we're an easy-going bunch here, and we'll "hear" you much better if you don't shout.

DO NOT START NEW THREADS WITHOUT CHECKING THE BOARD FIRST.

 Try to read the threads before you start a new one. Someone may have a thread on your topic already, and multiple threads only clutter the board.   It can also be viewed as "ignoring" the person who posted the original thread.

If you find a discussion on your topic, reply under that discussion, don't start a new one.

DO NOT USE THE PUBLIC MESSAGE BOARD TO POST PERSONAL MESSAGES TO ONE PERSON IN PARTICULAR.

Please do not carry on a personal "conversation" with just one member.  People may view this as rude and ignoring them.  If you want to chat, please feel free to use our Chat Room. 

  DO NOT POST LINKS ON THE MESSAGE BOARD. 

 If there is a a link you feel would be of interest to the members, please email it to one of the managers.   Do not post it in a Message Board topic.   If it is posted on the Board, it will be deleted by the Managers without notice.  No exceptions.

We prefer that you DO NOT join this Community just to promote your own group. 

PLEASE DO NOT POST COPYRIGHTED MATERIALS OR UPLOAD COPYRIGHTED PHOTOS

Management reserves the right to delete any material they feel is being used in violation of copyright law.  This includes photos and spoilers taken from other websites unless it is expressly stated that you may do so. 

Please do not use our screen caps anywhere outside this community.

IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF MANAGEMENT, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ACTING AS IF YOU ARE

While this might seem obvious, we feel it is important that you not present yourself in a fashion that might lead others to believe you are part of the management team.  This includes taking on tasks that would normally be considered the job of a Manager or Assistant Manager.  We appreciate your desire to help, but if you have not been asked to assist, don't.

WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE!

Remember, this is a family site. We all get a little TOO frustrated with our soaps at times. Messages that contain offensive or abusive language will be deleted without notice, and repeat offenders will be subject to banishment. We do not have time to edit and re-post your messages. If you can't control yourself, find a site that accepts obscenities. This includes symbols.

NO FLAMING!

Debate is MORE than welcome. We are all part of the AMC family and treat each other with kindness and respect. If another member's opinion differs from yours, don't accuse them of being crazy, or question their personal integrity, honesty, or moral code. Don't harass fellow members. Everyone who posts here has feelings, and when at AMC, those feelings will be respected. "Tone" is not always taken as it's intended, and if you know certain members do not get along with you, then avoidance is encouraged. Do not bait members into arguments, do not presume to judge members here that you've never met in person.

RESPECT FOR ACTORS

Actors are real people too, so keep in mind that their feelings could get hurt too if they should read a post that insults their appearance or acting performance. Character "bashing" is okay, because characters are fictional. 

KEEP IT HONEST AND ETHICAL

There is nothing wrong with asking the Management to post links to contests, polls, etc., available at other sites.  It is, however, unethical to ask members to "stuff" the ballot box, trade votes, or do anything else that would be considered illegal or questionable.   That's not what our membership is about, and the Management will protect their integrity and reputation by deleting such posts WITHOUT NOTICE. 

BANNED MEMBERS CANNOT RETURN

Once you have been banned by this community, do not create a new passport and come back.  You will be identified and banned again. 

If you have a complaint or concern about the AMC Boards, do NOT post it on the boards, e-mail the management.

You can do this through the Member Tools option on your Navigation Bar.   Remember that disagreeing with you doesn't automatically mean they're flaming you. If you are flamed, that does NOT give free license to flame back. Two wrongs do NOT make a right.
