Continued...

Luke hid from the authorities at what he thought was an abandoned Lakehouse, until he was surprised by the snobbish Skye Chandler Quartermaine! Luke convinced Skye to help him flee the country by helping him rip off the Quartermaines. Skye was willing to do anything, if it meant getting the oafish Luke Spencer out of her life for good!

While searching the Quartermaine mansion, Luke found a playing card in an old book about Wild Bill Hickock. The card was one from the "Dead Man's Hand", the very hand of cards that Wild Bill Hickock had been holding when he was shot in the back. Luke quickly plotted with Skye to snag all the cards and sell them back to Jax or the Quartermaines, depending on who turned out to be the highest bidder.

Jax asked Skye to keep an eye out for the cards at the Quartermaine mansion because he needed them to save his father's life. A guilt-ridden Skye stole the card that Luke had taken, and delivered it to Jax. Though Jax now had two cards, he didn't have them for long, since underhanded Samantha McCall stole them and jumped into the search for the other three.

The other three cards were in the possession of Dillon Quartermaine, who was asked by his mother Tracy to find them, and in return, Tracy would put a halt to Edward's plan to send Dillon away to military school. Sam fed Dillon a sob story about her dying father (eerily reminiscent of Jax's story), and then Luke approached Dillon about finding the cards so that Luke could keep himself from going to prison for the rest of his life. Georgie offered to hold the cards for safe keeping while Dillon decided who to give the cards to -- Sam, Luke, or Tracy?

Sam tracked the three remaining cards to Georgie's house and posed as a math tutor to gain access to Georgie's room. Meanwhile, Jax offered Dillon the hefty sum of $3,000,000 to turn over the three remaining cards to him! Dillon ran to Georgie to get the cards for Jax, but Georgie realized her math tutor was a fake and that Sam had stolen the cards!

Jax learned his father died before he could bring him the cards, and Jax blamed Sam. Sam surrendered the cards to Jax, but devious Tracy Quartermaine stole them! Tracy left one for Jax, as a symbol of her plans -- Tracy wanted to open a casino with Jax, using the cards as the draw to bring in customers.

The Quartermaines were not thrilled when Tracy returned to Port Charles again in October of 2003 and this time it looked like she was refusing to leave! Tracy set down roots in town, moved back into the mansion, and the Quartermaines knew it would mean nothing but trouble.

When Sam reacquired the cards, Tracy wanted them back, and urged Jax to seduce Sam for the cards. He couldn't keep emotions out of it, and began to feel for Sam again. Tracy's plans for a casino hit another snag when she learned that someone else still held the gaming rights in town, and the law in Port Charles was that there could be only one gambling establishment in town at any given time. Who held the gaming rights? Luke Spencer! Once Luke caught on to Tracy's plan, he decided he wanted to open a casino, with Skye's help. Sam had recently received the Haunted Star, Luke and Laura's old yacht, as a free gift from a winning slot machine, and Luke and Skye decided to open their casino on the Haunted Star.

Luke and Skye grew closer as they planned to open their casino, but they didn't have the necessary funds to get it started. That is, until they found a fortune under the floorboards! They sunk all the money into renovations and startup costs, not bothering to wonder whose money it was. Soon mob queen Faith Rosco staked her claim on the money! Faith was willing to go along with the casino, as long as she got her cut of the profits as a silent partner. Luke and Skye reluctantly agreed to work with Faith.

Her hopes for a casino dashed, Tracy plotted with Jax to perform a hostile takeover on ELQ, but before she could do any damage, a fed up AJ beat Tracy to the punch and robbed the Quartermaines blind before leaving town with Lydia Karenin! The Quartermaines were broke!

As Luke and Skye continued to work together to bring their dream into reality, Luke and Skye were each unsettled by their increasing closeness. A bitter Luke felt guilty for caring about a woman other than the love of his life, Laura, and he tried to end his partnership with Skye. But after a Christmas dream that made him look at the choices he's made in life, Luke saw the light and had a renewed zest for life.

The casino on the Haunted Star opened with great fanfare, but without Luke! Luke had disappeared, but Skye forged ahead with the successful casino, despite Faith's continued interference. Skye decided that to protect herself, she needed a legal agreement. Skye asked newly-returned Justus Ward to draw up a contract between her and Faith. Skye wasn't expecting to discover that Justus and Faith had a sordid past!

Skye attended an auction of Blackthorn's pirate treasure at the Port Charles Hotel, as a show of support to the Quartermaines. Nikolas and Emily put the treasure up for auction at the hotel, where they hoped the proceeds would help to revitalize the penniless Quartermaine and Cassadine families. Lorenzo Alcazar was the high bidder for Blackthorn's treasure, but it was stolen once again, right under the noses of hotel security -- by Luke! The evening went from bad to worse when the hotel's new security system proved too powerful for the building's old wiring to support. The result was an electrical fire which threatened the lives of nearly everyone in Port Charles!

Sam McCall knocked Luke out and snagged the treasure, leaving him in a broom closet that soon filled with smoke as the hotel fire spread! Skye found Luke collapsed in the closet, and rescued him. Skye and Luke made their way to the security room, and Luke spotted the treasure on one of the security monitors, abandoned in a hallway! Luke and Skye found the treasure, wore what they could, and dragged the rest down the hotel stairs, coming upon a distraught Cameron, who had just learned that his son Zander had died in the fire. With nothing left to live for, Cameron walked further and further up into the burning building. When Luke followed him to convince him to escape with them, a solitary Skye was knocked out, and a mysterious fireman stole the treasure!

Once reunited after Cameron's tragic death, Skye and Luke found Detective Brian Beck in an abandoned room, bleeding to death of a gunshot wound! Luke and Skye got Brian to the Versailles room, where chaos ensued over who would leave first on the rescue helicopters. Luke took charge and organized a lottery system where everyone would leave in the order of the numbers they drew from a bowl -- no trading or selling of numbers. Fearing for their lives as they awaited rescue, Luke and Skye shared a passionate, fiery kiss!

The Quartermaines gradually were evacuated by helicopter, but when Edward was exposed as being at fault for the fire by not keeping the hotel's electrical system up to code, Edward suffered a heart attack right before he was going to be arrested for criminal negligence!

Edward survived, only to make the non-Quartermaine Skye his sole heir! Tracy was poised to destroy Skye, and luckily had the means to do it. Tracy and Justus had convinced Edward to fake senility in order to dodge the negligence charges, and the scheme made Edward's new will as worthless as the paper it was printed on!

Tracy was going to have Edward committed to convince the public he was crazy. Fortunately for Edward, Luke and Skye busted him out of the looney bin, with proof that Edward wasn't responsible for the hotel fire after all! Ned was embittered by the fact that Edward would never give him his due, so he accepted Tracy's offer of a partnership.

Tracy made a power play for ELQ, and Edward was willing to fight dirty to make sure she didn't snag the reigns of the company! Tracy needed Dillon's vote to make her CEO, and enlisted Sage to get Georgie into a position where Tracy could blackmail Dillon into voting for her.

Edward, no longer needing Skye on his side since he was a free man and lost control of ELQ, Edward rewrote his will so that Skye was no longer his sole heir. When Skye learned that Edward had written her out of his will as she'd been warned he would, Skye was crushed.

Skye was determined to eject Faith Rosco from the casino and set up a sting with the Port Charles Police Department to snag Faith for money laundering. Instrumental in Faith's arrest was Detective Ross Duncan, a new hire at the PCPD. When Skye went on a binge after Edward's betrayal, Ross provided Skye with a shoulder to lean on. Skye and Ross went back to her Lakehouse, and an amorous night went wrong when Skye woke up next to Ross -- with an ice pick in his back! Luke found Skye with the dead cop, but Skye didn't remember killing him.

Tracy had control over ELQ, but she needed to make sure she kept it, which meant allying herself with someone as equally determined as she was to prove ELQ didn't need Edward. That woman was Skye! Tracy went to Skye to propose a partnership, and spied Luke dragging the dead body across Skye's floor!

After some digging, Tracy learned that the body belonged to missing cop, Ross Duncan. Tracy was certain Skye killed the cop, and decided that this was the perfect info that Tracy needed to maneuver Jax into marriage! Not wanting to see Skye go to jail, Jax reluctantly became engaged to Tracy, not at all intending to marry her.

Meanwhile, Luke and Skye had to find out who really killed Ross before Jax had to marry Tracy! After ruling out Faith as the killer, Luke worried when he learned that his ex-wife Laura had switched identities with another mental patient in her institution and escaped! Skye thought a vengeful and unbalanced Laura was framing her for Ross Duncan's murder, but Luke couldn't believe his wife, as he knew her, had it in her.

Luke searched for answers about his missing wife, but was soon drugged and institutionalized by a mystery woman before he could find any! Skye went to trial for Ross Duncan's murder, and when a letter surfaced, written by Luke, condemning Skye for the crime, Skye was convicted and sent to prison for Duncan's murder!

Luke and Skye were sufficiently out of the way, while Ross Duncan's real killer, Heather Webber, returned to Port Charles more than twenty years after she left, and insinuated herself into the lives of Luke and Skye's loved ones.

Lila quietly passed away in her sleep on the evening of Tuesday, July 13th, 2004. Skye was unfortunately in prison at the time, and was unable to properly pay her respects at Lila's funeral.

Months later, Faith Rosco had been sent to prison, and ended up sharing a cell with her hated enemy, Skye! Faith almost exposed Skye's plan to break out of jail, but Skye managed to use her tunnel to the outside, and returned home in the hopes of reconnecting with Luke.

Meanwhile, Heather, responsible for Luke's imprisonment at a mental institution, got word that Luke had escaped! Heather started making contact with Skye over the computer, pretending to be Luke, in order to learn of Skye's whereabouts so she could have the escaped convict sent back to jail.

The real Luke rescued Skye from her prison van on the way back to jail, and they hid out as vagrants and then on the Haunted Star until they could trap whoever had framed Skye for murder. Luke and Skye convinced Faith to take the fall for Ross Duncan's murder, since Faith was in jail anyway. Luke and Skye agreed to repay Faith for the favor by smuggling her out of the country, where she could reconnect with the money she had in her off-shore accounts.

After Faith confessed to Ross Duncan's murder, Luke and Skye were able to lure Heather out into the open, and Luke started to wonder if Heather was somehow connected to Laura's disappearance. Heather, the new Mrs. Edward Quartermaine, was uncovered when Dillon Quartermaine was assigned by Tracy to follow Heather, and stumbled upon Laura Spencer, hidden away in the Quartermaine attic! But before Luke could get to her, Heather had Laura moved.

Luke and Skye teamed with Tracy to free Edward from the institution Heather had committed him to, and trip Heather up once and for all! Luke cozied up to Heather and asked her help in reopening the casino on the Haunted Star, in the hopes of winning her trust and catching her in the act of trying to kill Edward to gain full access to Edward's money!

Skye resides in a quiet Lakehouse in Port Charles, New York.
