Aishiteru- I love you

Akai- Red

Aki- Autumn/Fall

Anime- Animation

Aoi- Blue

Arigato- Thank you

Arigato Gozaimasu- Thank you very much

Baibai- Bye bye

Baka- Idiot, stupid

Bento- Lunch box

Bishounen- Loosely translates to pretty boy.

Bishujo- Pretty girl, young girl

-chan- Used when the speaker is very close to whomever they are talking to. Usually heard between siblings i.e. a person talking to a younger brother or sister.

Chi- Earth

Chibi- means small or little

Chikara- Force/Strength

Daijoubu- Are you all right/what's wrong?, It's ok

Do Itashimashite - You're Welcome

Doozo- The equivalent of "if you please"

Doujinshi- fan-created manga, often about already-established manga or anime characters

Fanboy/girl- Some one so dedicated to a character or show to the point of being in love

Fan-sub- Unlicensed copies of anime with subtitles added by fans

Genki- Full of Energy/Well

Glomp- A tight anime style hug; also means to jump on some one in a happy manner

Gomen- Sorry

Gomenasai- I'm sorry!

-kun- Closer than san, but used for people who are slightly inferior. Used more for males than females.

Koori- Ice

Kuso(K'so)- Shit

Lime- softer than a lemon in it's descriptions

Ova (Oav)- original video animation. A direct-to-video episode (or episode) that never aired on TV or went to theaters

Sora- Sky

Shojo- an adjective meaning “for girls”

Shonen- an adjective meaning “for boys”

Shoujo-ai- A relationship between females.

Shounen-ai- A homosexual relationship between males

Sumimasen- excuse or I'm sorry
