AnswerPoint

Have a question? Ask it. Have an answer? Share it. People helping people. What the internet should be.

Guidelines

Most important, Always remember that this is a Q & A board before it is a discussion board.  General discussion is allowed, but try to participate in the answering of questions as well.

The following are the official guidelines of AnswerPoint.  They are a combination of the guidelines posted by the management of MSN Groups and this group (AnswerPoint), which is a complying member of MSN Groups.

1.  Profanity:  Profanity is not permitted.  If you must express your self by using such words, please alter the word by using characters such as @!#& and %.  Please note that it is possible to express your self freely and effectively without the use of profanity, therefore the use of such altered profanity is discouraged.

2.  Inappropriate photos:   Any member who uploads photos that involve nudity will be banned.  Any post that is intended to be erotic or a variation that is intended to push the limits of erotica will be removed.

3.  Solicitation:   Solicitation of commercial web sites is strictly prohibited.  Any commercial advertising on this site will result in immediate and permanent suspension.  AnswerPoint is not a commercial web site and does not receive reimbursement for it's services, therefore advertising is not allowed.

a.  Posts that are only intended to advertise a specific website will be deleted.

b.  Posts indicating that you have items for sale that give instructions on how to buy them, or that refer to auction sites are not allowed.  AskMe does not have a shopping category so posts in that area will be considered off topic.

4.  Harassment:  Any posts that are intended to directly harass another member by degrading or belittling the other member will be deleted.

5.  Personal Discussion:  Please refrain from discussion that is intended for specific members only.  The forums are for everyone and one on one discussion should be avoided.  Word it in such a way that everyone can join into the conversation.

6.  Posting photos of your self:   Personal photos should go in the members area and not into any of the sub categories, like Arts & Entertainment or Life & Living, unless the photo is specifically related to that topic.

7.  Posts inviting people into the chat room:  Please don't fill up the message boards with requests to join the chat room.  That is what the chat calendar is for.  If there is already one request on the forums please add to that post instead of starting a new one.  Posts that are related to the chat room will be deleted after the chat event has expired.

8.  Hello posts:  Hello posts are a great way to introduce your self to the group and are encouraged.  So if you are new here, go ahead and introduce your self!  The post will be removed from the forum after about a week so that it doesn't make it into the archives.  We want to keep the archives for Q & A type questions only.

9.  Requests for pen-pals and personal ads:  The best way to make friends at AnswerPoint is to participate in the public forums, so pen-pal requests and personal ads are not allowed.

10.  Sharing personal information:  For your own safety, please do not post your phone number or personal address on the forums or in the chat room.

Guidelines will be modified regularly.  You are encouraged to check back often :)
